Bamboo Express

The best Western Chinese food I have ever had! It's actually made fresh to each order so you have to wait a bit, but the food comes piping hot. The sweet and sour pork was still crispy despite the sweet and sour sauce, the fried rice was hot and fresh, and the chop suey was a generous portion of fresh veggies. Surprisingly impressed. Tasted better than a lot of Chinese formal restaurants.

Let's talk about the food first. To get one thing straight, the food from this restaurant gave my taste buds an experience they will never forget. The food is probably on par, if not better, than that of Gordon Ramsay's. It honestly baffles me that they do not have a michelin star yet. Secondly, the customer service was also amazing, made me feel very welcome and right at home. If you're ever trying to decide what to get for dinner, this place is definitely your first option. I will 1000% be coming back to this place. I am forever grateful for this restaurant as it has changed my whole perspective on what good food should be. But in all honesty, I would give this place 20 stars out of 5 if i could.

Hands down the best chow mein in the area! The owners have been there a long time and are very nice to everyone and they are quick delivery too. I love their food! Yum

We've been customers for many, many years and never disappointed. Everything is fresh, hot and tasty. Staff is great, and the food excellent. Going there again tonight!

Lady at the counter was awesome. Very friendly very attentive. Food was made swiftly. And packaging was on point with an awesome cloth type takeout bag A+ My order, Szechuan chicken extra spicy 2 egg rolls. The chicken was bland. It was not Szechuan style, it was just sliced steamed chicken, white onions,cooked iceberg lettuce?, assorted green and red pepper strips, and some garlic chili paste I can spot thai stuff from a mile away . No Szechuan peppercorns, no dried Chiles, clear watery sauce? Egg rolls... What a disappointment I threw them away as soon as I opened them. Egg rolls were battered in pancake batter?? Then fried??? The inside was soggy mush, no flavor and tasted like they were from a box. So sad. I guess you can screw up egg rolls! In a neighborhood surrounded by amazing Asian food, you would think that the competition would drive quality. But this is not the case. I get that this is supposed to be "western Chinese" but you could get better food from the freezer section sadly. Hell, I cook better Chinese food than this on the regular. I won't give up on this place as it's my first order. I will try again with something more safe.. Maybe it was an off day? Maybe this dish isn't something they make much of? Who knows. I want to like this place. It's hard to find good takeout for some reason.

Massive menu, all the portions are the same size, so you know exactly what you get once you order anything else, and the prices are very reasonable. The staff are nice too. The business has been around for decades, yet they still recognized my new-@#%#$ after only a few visits when I moved to Richmond I love it, I feel so blessed only recently. <3. Oh, and their Cash machine is older than me. Shouldn't matter, but just tells you they believe in 'if it isn't broken, don't fix it', and their service isn't broken, it worked this whole time, and it's still good. <3.

We ordered doordash from this place and there was an ant in the wonton soup. Definitely didn't crawl in fresh as it was cooked down but you can see its little legs... Everything else tasted pretty dry and bland. Please do not order from here.

Not bad for the price. Had 5 different dishes. 5 star quality broccoli lol but their chicken was was like the ones you get see in a Chinese buffet in the States.

I ordered sweet and sour pork and chowmain the pork had no flavor chewy the chowmain was so bad that I couldn't eat it and I also ordered egg rolls it was all batter it was as bad as the rest of the food, I have given this place so many changes it is bad 90% of the time?? I won't recommend anyone ordering from bamboo express, I promise you will regret? So disappointing,
