Baldachin Inn

My husband and I were out to dinner at the Baldachin Inn recently for a special occasion and had a very pleasant experience. It was a quiet Sunday and we arrived as the first guests. The dining room is large, bright and well appointed with windows which look out onto the shops of heritage Merrickville.nnOur server was friendly, attentive and accommodating. The food was quite good. I had the seafood platter which was very generous in portion. We had an Oyster Bay red wine which was delicious. Highly recommend if you are looking for a nice, quiet relaxed dinner in a charming setting.

We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon meal in the dining room. Service was friendly and the food was excellent. The Ploughman’s Platter was enough for two to share. The Fish and chips were done to perfection. We will definitely go again.

My husband and I stayed there Saturday oct 25 for our 50th Anniversary. Absolutely the worst Inn we have stayed at. It was old with Absolutely no amenities. No parking on site. Had to find parking on the road. There was no elevators so we had to go back outside and take our luggage up 21 stairs. The television was basic and had no cable therefore we were not able to watch the Jays game. We were very disappointed. No water in the fridge, no place to put your toiletries because they only had a pedestal sink. The hot tub spa in the room was old and dirty therefore we didnt use it.nNo place to plug in your phone except in the bathroom and you had to put your phone on the back of the toilet.nLady bugs in the room. No access to get to the dining room except from the outside.nnAll and all very disappointed for over $200 for the night. We will never go back and stay there again. Would definitely not recommend it. Can not think of one thing that we enjoyed at this Inn. No security bolt on the door which made me worry all night . Definitely the worst place to stay and very disappointing.

The atmosphere is lovely, service was excellent. I highly recommend the porc schnitzel, potato au gratin and vegetables. The chocolate torte was multilayered and delicious. Will definitely go back again.

I had lunch at the restaurant two weeks ago.nThe food was delicious. I had the English Style roast beef with Yorkshire pudding, creamy mashed potatoes and vegetables. It was cooked to perfection. Even got to thank the chef as he entered the dining area.nService was great. Owner was nice and I let him know I enjoyed my experience. Love the interior decor. Can’t wait to come back.
