We chose The Goose & Gridiron to host our wedding day after party and we are so glad we did. They provided the perfect place for our family and friends to continue celebrating after the reception ended at The Knox.nnOur guests danced the night away in the spacious party room and there was plenty of room for everyone to enjoy some drinks and chat without feeling crowded. The atmosphere was lively, the food was great, and the staff did an awesome job making sure we were taken care of.nnEverything flowed smoothly from start to finish and it truly felt like the staff cared about making this part of our wedding just as special as the rest of the day.nnIf you are planning a celebration in Merrickville or simply looking for a place with great food and genuine hospitality, we highly recommend The Goose & Gridiron. The employees are welcoming. The atmosphere is eye catching and clean. The brocoli soup was mid-cold with white chunks of having grabbed the end of the pot. Bread was fantastic home made, warm, fluffy, delicious. The mash potatoes, liver, meat loaf, cocktails were great. The vegetables seemed like they came from a frozen bag at the store, unsure why the restaurant would serve something to people that are leaving home for a higher quality to pay and obtain less quality.

We’d been excited to finally check out the Goose and Gridiron in Merrickville after hearing so many positive things about the resto-pub. The mains were solid and the portions generous. Their spinach dip gave me a bit of an M&M vibe, which could be a win or a miss depending on your taste. Personally, the dip and the raspberry cake cheescake dessert weren’t my favourites, but you might feel differently.nnIt wasn’t particularly busy during our weekday lunch visit, but the service was a bit on the slow side. Our server was friendly, just not especially present.nnOverall, still glad we went to check this one off the list. With so many incredible dining experiences to choose from, Im not sure if we'd go back without being in the area.

Food, service and atmosphere was ok. There are not many options around, and it seems one of the better restaurants which were open when we were looking for. The soup was really good, meatloaf & sticky toffee pudding were also pretty decent. However, can't say the same about the steak and tacos.
