Backwoods Brewing Company is proudly located in Carson, Washington, amidst the scenic Columbia River Gorge. Founded by the Waters family in 2012, Backwoods has set the course to be a true Pacific Northwest brewery with their hearty beer and amazing food. We stopped in on a Sunday while passing through Carson on a motorcycle ride in beautiful SW Washington. Although they were very busy on what was a warm, sunny day we were greeted cheerfully by the staff. The nice young lady took our name and informed us the wait was 30-45 minutes. We grabbed a couple of their tasty brews from the "something for everyone" selection and waited outside in the sunshine for only about 20 minutes before being beckoned to our waiting table. The service was great! We asked if we could order 1/2 and 1/2 pizza and she worked with us to facilitate our request. The pizza arrived in a timely manner and was just as ordered except the size was incorrect. We ordered medium and received a large one. (They only charged us for the medium) The pizza was cooked to perfection and very good! The atmosphere is rustic fitting the brewpub motif. When the weather warms up there is outdoor seating available and they are family friendly! Definitely worth a drive to Carson!

Not at all impressed. Order a bbq chicken pizza and got a pizza with Marinara sauce and a “drizzle” of bbq sauce on top. Told the waitress it was funky and all she did was say “I’m sorry” I tried to eat it but I just couldn’t. I asked them to remake it and by the time it came out everyone else was already done eating. Definitely won’t be back. Still tipped because I’m not an ass hole but seriously learn some customer service. They didn’t seem really that sorry or anything. What a waste of a $40 meal. I could have literally eaten anything else and it would have been way way better. Very disappointing

This is a small local town brewery, not a place that people would just "drive by" and see. From the outside it looks like a big metal shop style building and the entrance to the brew pub is around back. We got there right when they were opening, so it wasn't very busy and the reason my pictures have nobody in them. But by the time we left it was filling up. We didn't eat, just had a taster tray to share and a pint. Next time we will visit and try the pizza because it looked really good. The ambiance here is great - exactly what you would expect from a place called backwoods. The woodwork is really nice. The service was good and quick. We enjoyed almost everything on the taster tray, but the Ridge Run Stout was our favorite. They also have this rack of great smelling homemade natural body products and candles..... Great Stuff! Logo shirts and goodies for sale too! Hope to be in the area soon again so we can try that pizza!

This is our favorite place to eat/drink in the Gorge. All the pizza is truly wonderful, and the beer cannot be beat. The flight of beer is HUGE-- I think 12 samplers in one flight. We love going in the summer when we can take advantage of the outdoor dog-friendly seating.

Top-notch venue, top-notch food, top-notch beer! I have not once had a bad experience here with any of the above. It is a bit of a drive from Vancouver/Portland but well worth it! My favorite is the lumberyard IPA. Nice and tropical and hazy. Their pizza is delicious!
