If you have never been to this wonderful store, or have not been there recently, you need to make the trip. This is the best meat I have tasted in over 20 years, especially their beef, veal liver and lamb. Very friendly and accommodating staff make it a pleasure to shop there. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the amazing quality of the grass-fed beef. It is also the cleanest butcher shop I have ever been in and I find that extremely important as a reflection of their care and attitude. Treat yourself and try something today!

I love this butcher shop - always get great food and super friendly help. They are an integral part of my neighbourhood and why it's good to live in the market. The other day I bought a beef brisket there, first time I ever cooked one, and it turned out so incredibly good. I have to think that it was more than just my fabulous culinary skills: great meat!!

Very annoyed that this once wonderful store decided to scam so many loyal local customers. Some are even students and on a budget and now forced to buy much less groceries due to this. I usually buy bacon from a local producer who makes their own product. When I went to buy bacon here, the actual ingredients could not be confirmed-I can not eat nitrites of phosphates and they were not sure if these were in the meats??? BAD SIGN AND JUST WALK AWAY- a store should know what they are selling! Also, the people who say that meats that are pink are not natural- well that really depends. I buy a organic bacon and they put beet powder on it to make it pink. The product I get is from a local pork farmer and properly labeled. None of that "I don't know what is in my food..." I will be posting this review everywhere I can-this store has just gone downhill and stooped to a new low. *I have tried at least 5 times by email and phone, also in person to find out if the bacon has any phosphates or nitrites as I can not eat those and the "manager", staff could not tell me that. Was repeatedly told they would get back to me, they need to check with the supplier. No follow up at all. I usually buy bacon and smoked meats from a place that makes their own Bank st sausage and they make all their products right in the store. It is a bad sign if a food store can not even tell you what is in the products they sell. I will stick to my locally made bacon and meats that are labeled.

Everything I buy there is amazing. The moroccan beef sausages are a personal favourite, I always have a few in my freezer and my boyfriend and I just can't get enough of them. Their eggs are farm fresh and their bacon delish too! Also, when I buy their steak and can't get around to cooking it for a few days so it's in the fridge, I can absolutely tell that there are no preservatives in it because it changes colour to a duller red with each day that passes. But regardless of how long I wait, it is always amazing after seared on the BBQ seasoned with only salt and pepper!

I have been shopping at the Corner Butcher not only since Katherine took it over but also long before that. This is the place I go to for excellent local beef and pork, tasty sausages, roasting chickens, good eggs and the odd double smoked bacon rashes. Now that I and my husband have become great fans of bison, I turn to Katherine to supply it. She even has local goat! Her staff are exceptional: polite, friendly, helpful. They have never mixed up my orders with anyone else's. I love the old-fashioned way Katherine has her desk on the shop floor, greets customers and keeps an eye on everything. For someone who uses only public transportation and does not drive, they deliver my orders and are so punctual. This is MY Corner Butcher. I would not patronise any other butchery in Ottawa. Have been going to this place for a few years now and have always receive a great service. I really like the quality of the meat, especially the double-smoked bacon. Yes it is on the expensive side, when compared to grocery store meat. But I believe it is reasonable to pay a bit more for better quality when it comes to the food I eat.

Sadly disappointed. Walked in toady to get some cold cuts only to find they only had 4 choices. Fine, I went with a "Montreal" style smoked meat....which was not Montreal smoked meat. It's like they don't know what they're selling. Also asked about prosciutto, since I didn't see any on the shelf, and they asked me "What is Prosciutto?". I laughed, thinking it was a joke. It wasn't, she repeated her question and then a discussion ensued as to what prosciutto really was. How can this place sell meats if it doesn't know its business? If you want to sell cold cuts, then do it well. If you don't have a clue, stick to bacon. I'll never go back. The Sausage Kitchen around the corner actually knows their business.

This butcher shop is under new management since the Groupon fiasco - yes, I got taken in that one also! Another thing, this is a butcher shop, NOT a deli where you buy cold cuts. That said.... you can buy a heat and serve homemade lasagna that is absolutely delicious.

The first time I went to that place ,I asked a precise question about PRESERVATIVE added to their red meat and the Vendor answers me NO;He said that everything is natural and organic with no additive; It happens that they LIED ! Later I found out that meat with NITRITE as preservative has Red Pinkish colour and the meat without additive is BROWNISH! Obviously the UNSCRUPULOUS owner of the meat store LIED to sell his product ,because their redmeat,from stakes to ground beef have all RED _PINKISH colour;The representatives of this business are bunch of LIARS and without any HONOUR to lie to costumers,so they can sell their products; Also their ground beef is low quality and full of FAT! I would not recommend the product of AUBRY farm to anybody who wants to eat HEALTHY meat without Chemical GARBAGE in it!
