At Aspen Restaurant it is our mission to provide our guest with exceptional food, uncompromising service, and exciting ambiance.

Story

Aspen's story starts back in the spring of 1994 on Conger Bay Drive in Harrison Township. It was not Aspen back then but is was Gar Wood's Bayview Lodge. Nestled on the banks of Belvedre Bay, Gar Woods entertained guest by land and lake until October 18, 2002. That winter we spent 6 months cutting the building into about 70 pieces and reconstructing it at our present location on Hall Road in Macomb Township. The grand re-opening was March 28, 2003 and Aspen has celebrated its new home in the heart of Macomb County every year since. If you look around you can still see reminders of Aspen's roots as Gar Wood's and life on the bay.

This place has such a homey vibe because of the staff. I had my baby shower here with about 75 guests and everything went so nicely. Our waitresses were phenomenal and super attentive. The food was delicious! We will definitely be returning here!!
Good food, reasonable whole meal pricing not a la carte, good salmon not easy to find. Aspen salad is real good. Cocktails happy hour and daily food specials. Great place to celebrate my dad's birthday because they have nice big share worthy desserts. Parking: Lots of parking including handicap. Dietary restrictions: My gluten free vegetarian meal was a big Aspen salad and sweet potatoes.
I had my son and his fiancee's baby shower there. Food was excellent other than very small portion for Caesar salad. The hostess Brenda was out of this world amazing. The room was a great size for 18 of us. The only issue I have is that they should offer you meals to take home if there are guests that don't show up since we had to pay for their meals plus tax and tip for those meals. That was about $60 for us since 3 people no showed. And if you don't think the entire cake you bring will be eaten get the hostess to only cut a certain number of pieces. We had cake on plates that we wanted to take home and it would have been easier if it was still in cake box which hostess must have thrown out in the kitchen when she took it to cut it up. It was very nice otherwise.
We love all the food that we had. Happy hour during the Wings wasn't a bad surprise either. The lounge atmosphere was nice. Cozy and not too loud for conversation. We started with the fried pickles. Yea, they were chip kind, not the evil spears. I had the Gtand Traverse Bestie Brown which has the right amount of Hops. We shared the big game hunter. Definitely a great dish. The seasoning was just right and the gravy hit the spot. The waitstaff was awesome. Great place all the way around.
Woww!!Wow!!! Is all I can say the atmosphere was so pleasant the wait staff was even better and so down to earth. I can't believe how wonderful this place is. Our waitress Karen was spectacular and she helped us make great decisions for our meals and app. The fried pickles are well seasoned and fried to perfection. The prime dip was so yummy and paired with some of the best fries I've ever had. We also got lamb chops and being Greek ik how they should be cooked and holy cow out of the world amazing nice and tender and full of flavor. The rice pilaf was super good too and it was only white rice how does that work. I will deff be coming back and telling all my people about this amazing establishment keep up the fenominal work aspens!!!!!
Ordered the surf & turf and the shrimp tacos. The surf & turf was a good portion and tasty for the amount $19.99 while the shrimp tacos were definitely not worth the $14.99. The tacos looked tasty but were dry. It came with a jalapeno sauce- not good. I had to ask for another thing of sauce as they don't give enough as the tacos still remained dry. The extra sauce helped with the dryness but not enough. I had to ask for another small thing of sauce. I should've just returned them. The kids mac & cheese was good. Their coffee is great. The cup of French Onion is good.
I love when you find a place that makes you feel like you aren't where you should be...the atmosphere reminds me of actually being in Colorado. It's cozy with fireplaces, log cabin style, deers on the walls atmosphere doesn't feel like Michigan. Their food is amazing and the seevice was great. Busy night and food still came out pretty fast! They have salads, burgers, sandwiches, entrees...a nice variety to choose from.
Absolutely incredible. The food and portions are huge!! The price is actually inexpensive well to me. Cozy environment. Busy place. I would recommend making reservations.
Everything was wonderful! Heather was a very outstanding and attentive server for our group of eleven. Also, I appreciated our reservation at 6pm on a Friday! Everyone enjoyed their delicious dinners too! Also, I enjoyed seeing and saying "Hi" to Donna, the wonderful manager! Thank you for our wonderful dinner with family!
It was okay. I'm sure under other circumstances the food is better than it was. Friendly staff, pretty decor. I feel like serving for a dinner party of 30+ people is really a hard and tedious job so I definitely understand if the food wouldn't be up to the best quality. In my experience it was just a little lukewarm and a bit too salty so I couldn't eat it. But I'm sure dining with a smaller group would have better food.
