ARAMI
"Arami focuses on clean, innovative and subtle flavors using high quality, traditional ingredients and forward-thinking techniques. The interior evokes a garden-like atmosphere with bamboo-oak tabletops, a vaulted skylight and warm lighting. The Garden Room, with foliage and wood engravings, hosts monthly Sushi Class, Sake 101 and private events. With many highlights on its a la carte menu, Arami also offers the traditional Japanese chef-coursed dining experience: Omakase."

We came for restaurant week and it was the perfect experience. They have tons of options and if you're not well versed, the restaurant week menu is a perfect taste of everything. Ambiance was amazing. Perfect amount of mood lighting without being dark like some restaurants. And not overly loud either. We sat at the sushi bar and that was great to see the chef preparing the sushi. Will definitely be back.
Did the restaurant week omakase and they did not disappoint. The fish used were so fresh and high quality. Some of them literally melted in my mouth. I enjoyed the fun combination of flavors used and the chef was very helpful, accommodating, and chill. One thing that I wish was different is how often our server kept talking/interrupting us. Otherwise, I would go again for sure.
We visited Amari over the weekend. Upon arrival they checked our vaccination cards which we appreciated. We were a party of 5 and we decided to try the Omakase 2. My husband explicitly spoke to the server regarding his gluten allergy. He also explained to the server that he is okay with soy sauce, since there are only trace amounts of gluten tens of thousands of times less than in something like bread. We all enjoyed our 3 courses full of flavor. However the last course was a dessert full of gluten that the server gave to my husband completely disregarding his gluten allergy. After having a few bites, my husband noticed that in the dessert there was cake inside and asked the server if this contains gluten. The server confirmed it and walked away without apologizing. An hour or two later my husband was not feeling well. Overall, flavor of the food was great but the service was disappointing.
Such a wonderful meal!! My husband and I got the chicken karaage to start, enjoyed a bottle of sake, then we did the 10-piece omakase. Loved the creative spin on some of the nigiri. Many of the flavors blended so well together, but nothing overpowered the fish, which was great. Some of the freshest fish I’ve ever had. Service was amazing as well.
Absolutely delicious! It was certainly worth the trip. My far the best sushi I have had in a very, very long time. The staff were all quite nice and knowledge. I can not wait to come back!! Everything was so good especially the otoro!
- Visit 1 - The sushi tastes incredibly fresh and the chefs know how to pair all different kinds of flavors in one roll. Definitely expect to leave impressed. Ordered + would recommend: - Zuke maguro kani - Kani motoyaki - Ebi Tempura 2x - Zuke sake nigiri - mochi flight - edamame - Visit 2- Got omakase. Ismael - the chef - is truly an artist with his presentation of food and the combination of flavors he creates. It was an incredible omakase experience - highly recommend!
I've only eaten at their Midway International Airport location but it is by far the best food I've had while traveling. Everything tastes great and is well seasoned. I keep coming back and eat here every chance I get!Food: 5/5
Ambitious modern Asian cuisine in West Town. I only go to sushi place if they offer good hot food. Executive Chef Choa Tubtimkuna from Union Sushi + Barbeque Bar at river north now standing here behind the sushi bar. I'm such a big fan of his creativity. We sat on chef table which is on front of him. Starting with oyster and few ingredients make oyster so refreshing. Bone mellow and beef tartar, lamb chop and yakisoba duck breast such a delightful. Something different but so good like BBQ eel risotto, softshell crabs dipping with honey wasabi mayo, cooked Japanese sweet shrimp and some fresh white fish nigiri. Desserts like taro cake and gummy gelato ice cream are phenomenal as well. Highly recommend for chef table that will probably fit for six guests.
So glad that Arami is open for dine-in since many sushi restaurants are still closed for dine-in. They still have it nicely spread out with barriers between tables to still give you peace of mind. All tables were filled but it never felt packed or dangerous. We got a few appetisers, nigiri and rolls. All tasted fresh and of course yummy.
Fantastic meal. Spicy tako maguro will change your life. Everything on the menu is just elevated it’s not your typical Sushi place. The sake list rivals any list Iv ever seen, with knowledgeable servers who can help you navigate. Highly recommend. Do your self a favor and check it out.
