Welcome to Applewood Hollow, a custom-designed bed and breakfast inspired by a love of music, art, and nature.
Born and raised in the Niagara region, owner & host Jane Andres found herself in a unique and fertile environment for fostering a love of local history, music, and art. Another great passion is sharing the fabulous homegrown flavours of the area with all guests as they sit down to enjoy breakfast.
From the beginnings of Applewood Hollow in 1999, Jane has been showcasing the incredible bounty and diversity of fruit and other produce grown in her own neighbourhood. As the greater population becomes increasingly more urban, there is a disconnect between those who grow & harvest food and those who enjoy eating it.
Enjoying tree ripened peaches and produce picked the night before is often a new experience for most guests at Applewood. On some occasions they'll pull on the rubber boots we supply and head out to observe first-hand the incredible beauty and bounty of Niagara.
In 2005, Jane began assisting with the music at the Caribbean Workers' church service. It has led to many friendships with people employed as migrant workers on local farms. There are close to 2000 workers from the Caribbean and Mexico and they are a much appreciated part of the community here. Many guests enjoy meeting the people that tend the orchards and pick the fruit that they enjoyed for breakfast that morning.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
