Appletree Medical Centre

Absolutely horrendous. My girlfriend and I went here after she cut her finger opening a can. It was maybe 5:45 at night on a Thursday. We ended up at this Appletree after we tried another one in centretown and were turned away as they were closing. When we arrived here, it was pretty quick to see the doctor. However the doctor was odd and immediately began shaming my girlfriend for coming into see a doctor and how he could instead be home spending time with his granddaughter. I think he maybe meant it in a half serious way but it still did not come off great as my girlfriend had no choice, needed stitches, and this was the only place open in town on a Thursday night without going to the ER. Once the doctor stopped making us feel bad for coming in, he proceeded to get the materials for stitching up my girlfriend’s finger. He was making conversation and seemed distracted through the process. As normal procedure, most doctors wash their hands when they enter the room. But I was getting nervous because he failed to do so and I was waiting for him to do it before he started the procedure. When he got to the point of lifting the stitching tools and proceeding to begin the operation I interrupted and asked him to wash his hands. He did but it was awkward and didn’t instill confidence in me. I should have probably stopped and walked out at this point and just gone to the ER, but I figured he should be able to do a basic stitch otherwise he wouldn’t be employed. Also it was better than my girlfriend waiting with a bleeding finger for a few hours. So the doctor completed the operation but he did a really shoddy job. The stitch work looked really bad and he said not to worry because it would heal up fine. A couple weeks later it did heal up fine, but now my girlfriend has an ugly scar on her finger where the skin was not stitched straight. I recommend only going to Appletree as a last resort. You are better off going to the ER or another clinic like UOttawa.

My wife went to get her allergy shots today...like every other week... when she finally saw the doctor he tells her he can't do allergy shots... so he sends her home with them to find someone else to do them before they expire tomorrow... 15 dollars for parking.... please don't go here... appletree is bad but this one makes the rest look better

Going on three hours of waiting to get a prescription renewed. Have been watching other patients come and go. An emergency room is faster than this dump

The nurse and the doctor who saw me were kind and helpful, but Appletree is an atrocious place. First of all it feels rundown, depressing, and makeshift. The door was hardly big enough for a walker or wheelchair to get in (we're talking about a clinic..). There was no one at the counter, I had to sign in with a touchscreen that hardly worked. Instead of registering you properly and giving you a wait time so that you can leave the dreadful place and come back, they force you to stay by calling you up multiple times for each different order of business. They made me pay up front as a resident of BC, even though other clinics will bill BC medical directly, simply because Appletree wants your money up front. When I wanted to talk to the receptionist, I had to wait 5 minutes while she explained to a guy that he couldn't pay his bill in cash because he had to pay with exact cash.. Yes you can't give a 20 and get a 5, you have to bring 15 exactly if that's what you owe. Even when I got inside a room, I had to wait by myself for half an hour to actually see the doctor. I do think the staff are helpful enough, but this place is run like a patient mill. Absolutely do not go here unless you are completely out of other options.

Just went in here ,was denied there was only two ppl in the waiting room not even busy why are you denying a patient ? You are open until 2pm. If you don't like your job and want out of work early then don't state you're open until 2pm, what is this last call at 1pm? Then close at 1 change your google time to 1pm. This was not fair, and the young lady was just too busy to barely comprehend me standing in front of her she was not polite there was so sorry, we're not excepting anymore patients in a respectful manner, I was simply shut down. Worst treatment ever.
