The Campos there are questionable they steal the money out of the box. If you end up going here do not pay cash because the people who are the campost will steal it. highly recommend you don't go to this campsite they do steal money there's a lot of drunk people they don't take care of their campsites and there's trash everywhere horrible State Park. Multiple people have had their money missing and then been kicked out so never pay with cash if you stay here.
Very nice campground. Close to the city and first come first serve, no reservations, so it's great for a quick get-away. The added photo is a nearby campsite, not a big deal, too each their own you know. Just makes sleeping in a tent feel a little more vulnerable with what's happening around the country.
The camp hosts are very rude! I wasn't sure why they were so snotty to me but it wasn't called for or appreciated. The roads have way too many pot holes and the washboards are terrible on the way in to the park.
Only drove through on a Sunday drive. Drove through the campgrounds. They seem to be a little private from one another but the trees are not trimmed for tall campers. My 12.5 tall 5th wheel would not fit down the road or in the shallow camping sites. Walked down to the beach. Many people were swimming. It was sandy and about 50 yards wide. The beach is not handicap accessible. The CG and beach can only be accessed from about a 1 mile or so gravel road.
I rather enjoyed my time here! We stayed for just two nights, but the weather was wonderful and the sites were a good distance apart. Some good info in advance... 1. Sites are first come first serve. We were charged $15/night & two vehicles per camp site. Find your site and get back to the front billboard to submit payment and site info. Early birds get the worms here. 2. AWESOME HIKING TRAILS. These were one of my favorite hiking trails yet. Great for birdwatching or learning about new plants. I loved the rolling hills through woods and enjoyed the more natural trails. So much fun. 3. Roads are BUMPY. The roads are all dirt and because of the large amount of sand the water collects and made a bunch of interesting potholes. 4. Outhouses provided. No showers. They have scattered a few outhouses between sites but don't hesitate to bring your own toiletries! 5. Lots of people driving by. Because of the first come first serve don't be surprised if you have a few onlookers driving by scoping out your site. 6. There is a beach not far from the campgrounds you can walk or drive there parking provided. The beach was pretty packed when we checked it out so we decided not to stay, but if you can get there early you can enjoy this little beach.
Nice spacious sites with plenty of shade. Only $17 per night, NO ELECTRIC available. Mosquitos not to bad but horse flies and deer flies are abundant. Big swimming beach and lots of trails to hike. Very quiet and peaceful place.
Wonderful, rustic experience. No power, water or sewer at the sites, but beautiful deep woods and access to Ann Lake via the day use area. Extensive trail system. Ticks are active, so wear pants and gaiters.
Very rustic, large campsites. Plenty of room between sites. Plenty of privacy. Not very close to Ann Lake Beach area. Some sites are a longer walk from the bathroom. Road in and out of the campground are fairly rough, drive slowly.
No complaints. Think they could make some money by having the camp patrol guy sell firewood too
Great rustic campground. Semi private sites. Toilets on-site. Water on-site also. Good place for camping close to the cities but still away from them
