We went camping here. It's probably one of the closest public land places to camp where you can also legally shoot guns. Because of that, there can be a lot of people here. Sometimes people party and burn couches, dump TV's etc. The actual lake and beach area is more family friendly along with the group camp sites. You can't shoot in those areas however. So you have to find the right part of the park for you here. And yes, it is very sandy soil here so your tent will be full of sand unless you wipe your feet and take off your shoes every time you enter.

Really beutiful area with a lot of potential. Still some habitat mangement that needs to to take place. :)

Great secluded place to tent camp! This is Site #31. Insects are pretty intense at sundown, but picaridin pushes them back.
