Ammar Halal Meats is a family owned specialty butcher shop. Here you will also find the finest imported groceries, fresh local produce, daily pita bread, premium sweets, and a full halal deli counter, in a newly renovated and clean environment.

Story

We're a family owned and operated local specialty butcher shop. The founding brothers, Ammar & Bashar, opened the shop in 2004 with just two employees. Although we've grown in many ways, we've remained dedicated to serving you quality cuts of local beef, veal, chicken, & lamb. We also have a wide variety of imported Middle Eastern, North African, Indian, South Asian, and European groceries to help you create the dishes of your cultural roots, or your favourite international recipes!

We get local and imported produce weekly, as well as a large selection of bakery-fresh pita bread, baklava, cakes, & cookies. Check out the only fresh, halal deli counter in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region!

All of our meats are certified 'halal' and pass rigorous health inspection guidelines.

What a great find! We recently moved to the area and fortunately found this grocer. This establishment brings back the spirit, flavour and good cheer I experienced in Arab supermarkets in the Middle East. Practically all what you need can be found here. There are all sorts of good healthy snacks that our children like. The home made snacks are true to word home made and you can tell they have momma’s touch. For example, the stuffed grape leaves are absolutely delicious as are their fatayer and their manakiskh. I’m so glad that they put up with my limited Arabic speaking skills. Thank you Mohamed in the butcher section.
Been coming to Ammar halal exclusively for 14 years! The owners and staff are very hardworking and respectful. Their products are top notch. P.s we almost never have to return/exchange defective items, but have found push back from management on the couple of times we did. With that said everything else about this family business is fantastic. Wish you many years of success and growth
Having this store in my neighborhood has been a blessing since they arrived. The staff are all very professional and the variety of groceries available is excellent. Our family has purchased 100% of our meat here for many years and we will continue to do so. Clean, organized, well run and friendly.
Bought Lamb Loin chops today. 80%of the meat was just fat! Very less meat. This did not happen once but happened twice. Never gonna go here again. If you are innocent, be ready to be ripped off by the people at the meat section.
I buy chicken meat from here,it tastes fresh.. Onions are good and economical to buy from here... The butchers don't smile : *Edited - 2023/2/2* I have a few jokes, However i am not sure if it would "meat" their expectations !!! :P
Date: 27 Jan 2023 Bt 5 to 6pm 0 customer service Yesterday at the cashier the lady bagged all my things in 1 bag, i didnt say anything just watching. After I paid, suddenly she through 2 bags on the tray aggressively, without any respect Lady: take bags Me: I didn't ask for bags Lady: because these thing are too many Me: don't worry I will manage it And I left the place and i told myself i necer come back again. The issue is, the lady working in the cashier whether she doesn't know bagging or she is sleeping at the wheel or the she deal with people in different way for their race. Many of my friends told me the same and they stop to shop here. It was my last day to shop in this place too, until they improve their service. I get it off my chest.
Great store, my only concern they have a strategy to clear the lamb shoulder. By telling their loyal customers we don’t have lamb leg. Which is not true, but they trying to clear the shoulders first! They should respect their customers especially if they are coming from a far areas! I was told clearly we can’t sell the legs until we clear the shoulders and this is by management. I understand there is high demand on the legs but they should deal in different way. You can make offers on the shoulders or increase the price for the legs. This is repetitive issue and every time the same story! I hope you consider this message. Otherwise everything
I recently moved to KW, I was thrilled when I started buying meat and groceries from Ammar! Staff is amazing, meat is the best and it is probably the cleanest shop around KW!! My issue started when I dealt with the owner while shopping! He is extremely rude, not nice to talk to or ask him for help! HE EVEN IGNORED US when directly asked about something that he was handling! On the other hand all other staff members are amazing! Frequently I find myself getting my stuff from else where as I am avoiding dealing with the owner!
Salam waleikum my friend recommended this place great place for halal meat shoppers to visit if you live on brantford or Paris its better then driving down to Adonis in mississauga. However I wish they post there butcher shop prices online there's no meat price and site was not so useful..
VERY, VERY EXPENSIVE!! . I feel bad for the new comers, as prices start going up since. I used to go there but not anymore. They have attitude and rude, as they are doing you a favour buying from them. In reply to the below reply! I’m sorry, I’m not a competitor, if I had a shop like that wallah I will treat them better and not gouge them, especially the new comers!! Your so disengaged with your customers, the fact this posting is 2 years old and was edited 9 month ago it tells people how much you care! The prices I was talking about over 2 years ago, now is probably worse! I haven’t gone there to really know but based on some of my relatives that still go there unfortunately they tell me.
