We recently discovered Mi Tienda Latina and have already visited a few times. It has a friendly atmosphere and is perfect for the whole family. I think we've now tried all the different pupusas and would recommend all of them, as they're all filled with flavour. As far as we can tell, everything is homemade and prepared fresh. We went in for pupusas today but saw a lot of people ordering the soup, so we're looking forward to trying that on our next visit. When you visit, be sure to take a look around the store and buy something to bring home.
I have ordered a few times here, typically when América Latina is closed. On both occasions at least one aspect of my order was disappointing. The first time my papusas were so oily I had to blot them multiple times with paper towel before eating them, but the rice was very tasty. Then on my second order, I ordered the fries maybe my bad for ordering fries but there was maybe 10 fries in the box and the box was half empty, they were also covered in oil, soggy with 0 crisp and cold. The papusas were okay, taste was great but again still quite oily despite requesting less oil. Unsure if I’ll be going back.
My husband and I went for dinner last night, we had empanadas, tamales and bandeja paisa. Everything was amazing, but the chicharrón was ESPECTACULAR!! Best chicharrón we’ve had in years! The ladies in the kitchen were awesome and the service was fantastic, absolute gem of a place. Don’t forget they also have groceries and all kinds of Latin goodies, this is where I get my Ducales crackers and bocadillos.
The pupusas here have alot more flavour then the America Latina on Victoria St. The salsa here has a nice little heat to it which I prefer and it's seasoned.. the curtido on the other hand not my favorite, America latina has a better curtido by far... this place also does queso con loroco which is delicious . So overall come here its
1. Evidence of recent investment in the dining area. 2. They carry Sangría Señorial, a beverage which has a stronger similarity to it's namesake than many non-alcoholic beers. 3. Tortillas of quality, as at time of review, seldom found in similarly sized settlements.
Ive been looking for a Latin store/restaurant nearby for authentic Latin food. With so many listings around, I decided to visit Mi Tienda Latina and I must say its worth coming here! We loved the food we ordered puspusas,tacos Also, I’ve been looking for some latin candies/snacks and they have everything! This store is now my go to store!
Very friendly and helpful people, and the store seemed to have so many amazing grocery items. Haven't tried the restaurant yet but the menu seemed pretty good with a few vegetarian options.
Wonderfully friendly person at the counter, made some suggestions as to what I need to make tamales for the first time. I also really like this place because it stocks things uncommonly found anywhere else, like Queso cheese and Masa Harina.
The customer service and hospitality here is incredible. The food is amazing and the environment is nice. The price is perfect. I enjoy it all and the conversations I have with other customers. Everyone has to try it.
My El Salvadoran mother approves of this place. Only thing is, there's hardly any seating here, and nowhere to really sit/wait for them to prepare the food. So, my recommendation is to call ahead of time to order.
