Americas Best Value Inn & Suites - Shakopee/Minneapolis

I am not picky, but DON'T STAY HERE! It is not worth your money! The wallpaper is peeling off of the walls, the curtain was falling off of the track, the jacuzzi tub is most likely the first one ever installed in a hotel and looks scary, the "non-smoking" room reeked of smoke, my 60 lb son looked like he was in a hammock when he laid on the cot, no pillow was given with the cot, and when I phoned to ask for a pillow, the lady at the front desk rudely said 'I do not have any pillows at the front" and did not even try to find another one (so yes, my son slept with no pillow for that night), the phone in the room had no cover over the buttons and didn't work unless you wiggled the cord, the 'card lock' door close to our room didn't even shut, my family didn't stay in the pool for more than 15 minutes because they said the bottom of the pool was gross, the exercise room was very hot and there was a hole cut in the ceiling without any sign of being fixed soon, and there were many many loud drunk people all night. The positives-clean towels and bedding, the breakfast was ok, especially since the one person was trying his best to be helpful and kind, and the second night, the lady at the front desk was nice and miraculously had a pillow there! It is apparent that this hotel does not have enough staff and does not bother to maintain much! There is nothing "valuable" about this place!

Nice place 3+ Stars. Small quiet older but we'll maintained bldg. Priced right cheaply for what u get! Excellent front desk workers 24 hours a day!

No amenities for price paid. The hotel has recently gotten a face lift but we were put in the part that hadn't. It smelled musty with a overwhelming cigarette smoke smell. The rooms were not cleaned well. I found various items from previous guests and what looked to be blood spatter or boogers on the wall. Beds were extremely uncomfortable. The walls are paper thin and the windows were terrible, sounded as if they were open. The pool area appeared nice via photos but once in the spas they were filthy and in need of some fixing/cleaning. Would not recommend to anyone.

The bed linens were clean and room cleanliness was acceptable. The room was a "jacuzzi suite" .. the tub looked OK.. had some damage..the shower didn't work. There was visible damage (things worn out) in several areas. The elevator was dingy. with surface damage.. the rear doors were not secured at night. The place is just worn out and in need of major refurbishment. Room was at front of hotel near restaurant . The outdoor diners were outside until after midnight and quite loud..

This used to be a quality motel we could count on for a comfortable, secure stay with decent amenities. We last went four years ago and now again this year. It was clean, but that's the only good thing I could say. The room was falling apart, the staff at check-in was lazy and not helpful - we found out she was actually lying about why we weren't given the adjoining rooms we booked/requested months ahead. The rear door locks were broken/non-existent and I was followed in by a strange man, no toilet tissue holder, waste basket and no ice in machines, curtains broken and hanging on window and nobody would enforce pool/hot tub rules when it was filled with children (8 of them!) under 10 years old and we wanted to use it - we were told there was nothing they could do. Sign posted nobody under 16 in hot tub, but nothing they could do? Last time we go there for the Renfest.
