I came here knowing nothing of Vancouver Island. The staff here is great, they helped connect me with other fisherman to split a charter boat. Clean grounds, beautiful sunsets, and lots of fish to be had. Also everyone is very quite! It’s very noise free. And guests seem to be very respectful of other guests
Just finished our 6th year making Alder Bay our destination for the annual migration to the coast from Alberta. The resort is in excellent condition and the fishing is never disappointing!! We keep our boat in the marina and make daily trips to any number of active fishing areas. Lots of wildlife, whales and natural beauty. The restaurant located at the office Roxy'sserves food that I really look forward to... especially the fish and chips!! The office carries a good assortment of supplies that you might find yourself needing during your stay inclusive of fishing supplies. The showers are spotless and the staff is second to none. Alder Bay has a number of RV's if you can't bring your own. Make Alder Bay your destination but book early!!!
Beautiful place amazing view. Great sun sets. The place is very clean. And the owners are great. Second year i have been there
Beautiful well-kept campground with gorgeous views and very nice clean washroom/showers. The office has a little store and there is even a licensed food truck on site!
This is a really special place. The facilities are top notch, the staff is very accommodating and the location is one of the best in the world. Family friendly and perfectly located in the region. Highly recommend!
Great location with the views - right by the water. Friendly and helpful staff. Private washrooms and showers. It was not busy during our stay in October, so it was quiet and spacious. Would stay there again.
Stayed here for 3 nights. Staff were very nice. Site can seem cramped when it's a full house since each site are side by side. We stayed at the vintage Campsite no service. Facility was well kept. No crabs to be caught by the dock. Our neighbours gave us spotted shrimp.
We fell in love with this place. We called ahead to make sure there were spots. Arrived around 7pm and the staff were so caring and thoughtful . Bought a wheelbarrow firewood from them, shower and toilets super clean, campsite was to die for. We really want to make it back here again. Thanks guys!
We stayed just 3 nights at Alder Bay as part of our Canada road trip and it was by far one of our favourite destinations. The campground is well laid out with plenty of space allocated to each site. The bathroom facilities were absolutely amazing, it is such a treat to have a full private bathroom cubical with a shower, sink and toilet to get ready in. These are kept immaculately clean and operate by way of a $2 honesty system. The view from the site is unreal, overlooking the little marina is Alert Bay. Watching the sun set each evening is a must. The majority of visitors to the campground are out fishing all day so by 8pm there is perfect blissful peace and quiet. We could not have hoped for more. The wildlife in the area was spectacular we even had a black bear walk through the site posing for photos. I thoroughly recommend taking a tour with SeaWolf which leaves directly from the campground to see the orcas and humpbacks in the area. One additional bonus is the onsite food truck, selling breakfast, lunch and dinner. Amazing food at great prices. Great place for a few days rest and relaxation. Thanks Alder Bay, you are doing a great job!
Beautiful view if get campsite facing the water. However, sites are extremely close and picnic tables are 6 inches from the neighbours sewage hose so unpleasant to sit outside due to odor! Also check out is at 11:00. 11:01 a camp guest approached us to tell us the office said they could check in. Made for a stressful departure. Yes, we were 15 minutes behind. If you have a dog the better choice is Cluxewe Campsite as there is no where to walk your dog here whereas there you have miles and miles of stunning beach to walk. Alder Bay Resort is ideal for fishermen as you can dock your boat and there’s a cleaning station.
