Cottage 102 was filthy when we arrived. I was offered a $10 voucher towards a rental next year. We had teams of people cutting the grass with machinery, landscapers digging, after spending $2500.00 for the week. When I sent pictures of the filth, I never heard from them again! Do not rent from adopt a cottage.
When we arrived at the cottage, garbage had been left behind and the cottage wasn't cleaned. The property management company obviously didn't clean, or even checked, the property after the last renters left. Called Tamara, the Property Manager, a few times and didn't answer my calls. Sent her emails with pictures showing the condition of the cottage and never replied! Really the worst property management company ever. Please do not rent from them if you don't want to be ignored and been left on your own.
We rented one of the cottages for our honeymoon. The office staff were amazing helping us get all the paperwork filled out correctly. Just needed a quick reminder about getting our deposit. We loved the cottage! It had it's quirks, but we were there for the beach and what could be better than beachfront for a good price? The only hiccup was that halfway through our vacation our BBQ decided it wanted to call it quits after we thought it was just the tank that was empty. One short phone call to Adopt a Cottage and they made sure we had a new BBQ the next day along with a small refund for the inconvenience as well as what we paid to fill up the tank. We never asked for a refund, but it was really nice of them and all they said was "We want to make sure you have a wonderful vacation!". Best customer service we could have asked for just with that line. We will definitely be recommending them to friends as well as booking our next vacation with them!
My 3 daughters ages 13 and twins that were 11 and I stayed in cottage #133 in Sauble Beach for the Canada Day long-weekend and it was just a blast! This cottage is perfectly located to the main-strip - not too close but not too far away and really close to the mini-putt! The cottage was adorable&very comfortable and had a wonderful private backyard to store out bikes and to enjoy a fire! We also prepared some amazing meals in the well stocked kitchen with all the dishware&cookware that was provided. We felt very safe in the neighborhood and we loved our 1st Sauble Beach experience!
After arriving late Friday afternoon, I was very disappointed to see the condition of the cottage. To start, when walking to the cottage entrance, we noticed the lawn was not nearly as well maintained as it should be. The grass was way too long and contributed to the unnatural amount of insects found onsite. There seemed to a large amount of mosquitoes, which at first we assumed was due to the forestry around the cottage, but then realized a large blue barrel of still water that is essentially breeding grounds for mosquitoes. The lawn chairs left for our use were not in usable condition and required us to clean them one by one before using. We did not spend as much time as we would have liked to in the yard area and when we did, we spent a good amount of time cleaning it first. Going inside the cottage, the washroom and kitchen were also not maintained and required us to clean them prior to being able to use them. Each plate and utensil needed cleaning and I'm not going to try to explain what we found in the toilet, but all I'm saying is that it was unexpected and disappointing. A majority of the first day was consumed making the overall space more inviting. Other cottages in similar price ranges have more features, ie. A/C, wifi etc. but these aren't things I can complain about as I knew of our amenities before hand. What I am disappointed in however is the fact that any cottage I rent I expect to be well ventilated, clean and not seem abandoned. Adopt a cottage failed to get the cottage to a presentable state
Very unhappy with this agency as they continued to ignore phone calls and an email. The barbeque at cottage 101 was not working. When we contacted staff, we were told a new one would be there the next day. This never happened and we were without, all week. Plus, we had purchased a tank full of propane. We requested a refund but no reply. We are returning customers, so we felt we were treated very poorly.
Three little cottage side by side in red and white label 1,2and 3 is awful. Cabin #2 there's no linens. The pillows are hid in draws they look unclean so I would bring my own if I were you, covers for your bed also. the sink is leaking all over the floor in the bathroom every time you use it. There's no toilet paper or paper towels. There's no fans all the other cabins has two fans except #2 and there's no mop or broom. There's a fridge, stove, coffee maker and a kettle. There's a radio and a small TV. There is no doors for your bedroom only little curtains. Its a two bedroom and 1 pull out couch. So if you are going to share the second bedroom with a Stranger u only get one key so its best u share with someone u trust and know. The propane BBQ is awful in cabin #1 so bring your own.
Cottage 105 suited us well. Clean and as presented. Short walk to the beach. Groceries and ice cream around the corner. A lot of the cleaning supplies were already there for us. The extra body pillow was appreciated. The window in the bathroom could use a curtain or blind. There was a collapsible wagon - a helpful pleasant surprise. Enjoyed our stay, would book there again.
Dear Adopt A Cottage There are a variety of techniques that can be used to determine whether or not a holding tank is full. Waiting for the putrid smells with excrement and feces literally bubbling up on the lawn is not one of them. If you are going to rent out cottages at $200 a night, it would be advisable to maintain the holding tank to avoid a situation like we endured today. The events of today coupled with your response to my email just now totally ruined my vacation.
Adopt a Cottage staff were very pleasant to communicate with and the cottage our group rented was perfect, the kitchen was well stocked with the cookware and dishes to prepare our meals. The charming rustic feel was relaxing, we enjoyed the fire in the front yard, the sound of the wind through the trees as waves were lovely to go to sleep listening to.
