Adams Fairacre Farms

Adams in Kingston has the best prices on fruits and vegetables. However if you're looking for some sweet stuff you may want to consider if you really need it. There bakery items although good are out of the norm. The meat department is excellent and always fresh. Always friendly employees enjoy shopping here.

Excellent meats, fish, bakery, groceries. Though a bit tight on space and busy they have everything you need and a lot more. Just a bit more than a regular supermarket for regular items but for the quality and selection of the bakery items, meats and gourmet selections it's actually an excellent value. If you shop regularly you know when they have specials and can actually save you money. Their staff is helpful and pleasant and if you don't see exactly what you're looking for in the bakery, ask, they probably have what you want in the cooler! Adams has been around in the Hudson Valley all my life, they are family owned and operated and there's a reason they just keep growing.

Large fresh produce and Deli sections. They also have a large lawn & garden section mostly focused on home owners. They also offer a Florist, Cheese & Bakery section as well as every day grocery items. The thing I like most about Adam's Fairacre Farms is they always have plenty of people to help you.

Sarah went above and beyond for me yesterday. She helped me repot plants and gave me a mini botany lesson. She helped me choose pottery and taught me about fertilizer. She packed and wrapped and carried my huge plants and pots with two other girls who were great to my car. I drive up every few months to visit my family and friends and always stop in to buy plants here. My plants made it home safe and healthy. She was kind,patient, offered help, and taught me things I needed to know. What a sweetheart. Thanks to the other two women that also helped. xoxo Anna NYC I wish I knew how to post my plant photos..

Great that it's a local store, but there is not a large selection of items to shop for. I often find I need to head to a different store for somethings they don't have. A lot of their prices are on the higher end, especially when you can drive two minutes down the road to get the same items at Hannaford for less. Supporting local businesses is important, but with today's economy it doesn't make sense for middle to low income families to shop at this store. They don't really have much, if any, products that you wouldn't find elsewhere either. A lot of times the store gets very crammed, because of the amount of people and very tight aisles, making it hard/slow to get around. A grocery trip that would usually last you about 20 minutes very well might end up doubling to 40 minutes.
