Above Tide Motel

we booked a room for four people on line, it had a balcony for smoking, no stairs as we had an elderly woman with us. When we arrived we were told that it had only been booked for 2 people and there would be an extra charge. But he agreed and did not charge the fee. We were on the second floor, but our friend said she would cope, we were also told no smoking on the balcony. So we checked in and went out shopping, when we came back there was a note in the door to come to the office . When arriving in the office the lady said there was a fee for the other 2 people, I told her the gentlemen who was there earlier didn't charge us for that. She responded with she has already charged the account and there was nothing we could do about it. After exchanging a few words she demanded to speak with my mother, when my mother came down to deal with this she entrapped my mother into signing for the extra fee , then threatened to kick us out. This didn't wreak our night out but put a big damper on the trip, we will never stay here again. And we will tell our friends before they have a the same experience. I guess not to surprised by the response from the owner, that's the way she was when we were there. She likes to argue, get loud and talk over you. Instead of making a bad situation get better. Very disappointed.

Fantastic motel with very helpful and friendly staff. All rooms have a great ocean view! I highly recommend the above tide.

The view from my room.....breathtaking!! A bit noisy from the highway but otherwise all I need. Wonderful manager behind the desk....very helpful.

Again strongly don’t agree with the cancellation policy when it was a mistake booking . Good customer appreciation would be to be a little more understanding Has been a huge hassle with this and booking . Com

From a legal standpoint telling people to pay extra and getting a signature then kicking them out right after is called entrapment. Your "pity" for the mother more than saved your ass and after reading other review i gather you cant handle bad reviews. Lol whatever lady
