I've been stopping by this gem since high-school. It's a treasure trove of books. You can wonder for hours in their. If they don't have what you're looking for they will order it. I never buy books online, we need places like this. Stop by and check them out.

I’ve been buying books from here for years now. Book stores like this one are a gem. I happily make the drive from out of town to visit. They have a great selection of books and very helpful staff.

A different drummer bookstore is such a quaint and relaxing store unlike the big box stores. If you get a chance check it out. Lots of books for young and older.

A Different Drummer Books is my family's happy place. My wife is a voracious reader with a passion for children's books. This bookstore has a magical effect on her. I myself discovered new and unique art and technical books that I wouldn't be able to find anywhere else. My children reaped the benefits even more: my younger daughter rediscovered her excitement for reading thanks to A Different Drummer Books, and has been reading nonstop ever since. My older daughter happily gets her creative books and novels from A Different Drummer. My son even discovered a new passion for botany. Our whole family owes a lot to this bookstore. I have the highest respect and gratitude to the owner, Ian Elliott. He is exceptionally kind, patient, and generous. I also want to give a shout-out to Kate Riley, who makes sure our children's therapy centre always has the books we need. Kate selflessly devoted her time to read her beautiful book, Snow Song online to children in the Philippines and all over the world! Our teachers, therapists, students, and their parents are very happy with the books we exclusively get from A Different Drummer! Both Ian and Kate will go beyond to find any books we need, including the extremely rare ones. Kate was the one who recommended new books to my son, sparking his new passion and joie de vivre. There is no other place we would get their books but only from here! To Ian and Kate, I salute you both for your decades-long hard work. Thank you very much for everything you do for our family. We are genuinely honoured to know you both!

The most magical bookstore with even more magical people behind the counter. My mother and I rediscovered and nourished our love for reading thanks to A Different Drummer Books. We knew we were lifelong customers from the first day we met, when Ian allowed our dog to come in despite being allergic to dogs. Or when we were introduced to a foreign world of customer service where every question could be expertly answered, every request met as if Ian and Kate were literary genies that could make any book appear at a whim. My mother and I discovered new authors and heightened our love for older ones. I won't forget when Ian gifted me this wonderful and rare Chinese history series, shipped all the way from China. I've also found my new favorite author, V.E. Schwab, and ventured deeper into the exciting world of fantasy and historical fiction. My mother, a children's book enthusiast, was astounded to meet Kate, a children's book author. She has also discovered many more authors that she would have not tried if she stayed in her comfort zone or relied on less astute booksellers there have been many. We are happy to say that this bookstore was the best discovery we made in 2021, and the bookstore we'll be going to in the years to come. Ian and Kate, thank you for helping us love books again!

Great bookstore to curl up in a corner and read.

Best independent bookstore, hands down. Such a lot of enticing titles everywhere you look - & the owner can get just about anything for you if what you’re looking for is not currently in stock. Once I asked for a copy of My Uncle Napoleon in the original Farsi - & Ian found it. So many wonderful events too, supporting & celebrating local authors & Canadian authors in general online in time of Covid, but I fondly remember some amazing in-person events from the Before Time. Can’t recommend A Different Drummer enough - one of my favourite places in the known universe!
