It’s really good quality for a $3.5 croissant! The outside is flaky enough and not oily, and the inside has great honeycomb structure. The flavor is pretty balanced, not too sweet at all. Personally I would prefer the inside to be a bit softer than this still, and I kind of feel like there could be more taste of butter. But overall I really enjoyed the croissant and would like to try out other products for sure!
i got the twice-baked almond croissant because of all the reviews raving about it, and it really was very good!!! it had cream and chocolate filling and the pastry was clearly fresh. the staff are also very kind and greet you as soon as you're in the door. would love to come back and try their drinks.Food: 5/5
Small cafe hidden on a small street in the Kensington market area. There's a few seats outside and inside, but overall seems like a to go place. Bilingual service, fair/affordable prices depending on the item you order. I got a plain croissant and I could taste the butter it was made of. It was good but not the best I've had in Toronto; less crispy on the outside. A nice quiet spot to relax with a coffee and croissant. Next time I'll try the almond croissant!
Picked up some croissant and chocolatine. We enjoyed them and the staff was friendly. Their matcha cookies looked great too.Food: 4/5
you know when people ask you for a hidden gem that they have to try and you're torn between telling them your actual hidden gem and another place that's still a great choice but you don't want to gatekeep as hard? yea, 84 Nassau Street Cafe is the former when people ask me where they can get the best croissants in the city. this place is a game changer and i am so overjoyed they exist. the smell of buttery goodness when you first walk in hits you like a truck. i have tried almost every single type of croissant here and will never get sick and tired of it. the everything bagel has become a recent favourite of mine and i implore all of you to try it too. the owners are super nice and there is nothing but good vibes when you're in the cafe. you can tell that the owners and the people who work there are genuinely good people, and that is so precious. though I have never tried a drink, my friends have, and they say it's a welcome addition to the cafes in Kensington Market. If I could give this place more stars I would, their croissants are top notch and I assure you, once you try a baked good of theirs, you too would be torn between shouting about it from the rooftops or hiding it from everyone, hoping it doesn't get super popular and remains your little hidden gem forever. p.s there seems to be some undercover anime fans in the store, bc everytime i wear my jujutsu kaisen tshirt, the barista/bakers always strike up convo about anime and that's just terrific.
I am sure the pastries are fantastic, but as this is a coffee shop I think more focus should be going to the coffee. I don’t think it is fair to ask for 5.50 for an undialed diluted white iced latte. Coffee shops in toronto I feel need to take more pride in their coffee, there’s always the option of tim hortons so if you’re paying a proper coffee price it’s only fair you get a proper balanced coffee. Hopefully some improvements on the coffee side can be made. Sorry to be a downer.
Came across this cafe while heading into Kensington Market. Right away the barista and baker greeted me and made me feel welcomed. I got their Momo’s iced matcha latte with tonka syrup recommended by the barista and it was a good blend! Inside and outdoors was well maintained and they played good music! Thank you to the cool guys in on Thursday October 19th! Will definitely come back
Best croissants in this city hands down. Amazing coffee, great people, love themFood: 5/5
A hidden cafe in a quiet neighborhood in the heart of the city. Their signature, freshly baked croissants and freshly brewed coffee. I tried the almond croissant, it was delicious, crispy and sweet but not overwhelming. It goes very well with the espresso there, acidic, creamy with nutty flavor. I recommend you try this place
Only reason I miss Toronto these days is because of this coffee shop. I think about their croissants and iced lattes more often than I’d like to admit. To this day I have yet to try croissants like the ones 84 makes, IN HOUSE no less! I’m happy this place is getting the recognition it deserves because trust me when I say, it truly is one of a kind.
