We bought tickets to a sickick concert that was tonight February 25th and up front i was a little nervous about it once i read the other reviews of the place. We followed their dress code which the concert stated to check the website for and we had no problems at all. The security pat down is definitely extremely thorough but they were professional about it and felt safe with knowing theres nothing getting in. Talked with multiple bar tenders and security while we were there and they were all very professional and nice as long as people were respectful. Many reviews pointed that they were racist and i cant speak to what happened previously but tonight was the melting pot of every race and type of person with no issues that we saw at all. Just a ton of people having a great time together. The sound system is top notch and the lighting and effects are out of this world awesome! Picture was right when we got in which we were first in line but it filled up and was an awesome venue and show.
Amazing atmosphere, great DJs, good vibes! The club is diligent with their security and safety of all individuals. Expensive drinks but it’s worth it.
Great Club with a good atmosphere. Staff are pleasant to deal with and are happy to be at your service.! On a Sunday you wouldn’t think anywhere would be poppin but 44 proves you wrong. Definitely the spot to be when your in DT Toronto. Make sure to book a table though to breeze through entry line and the extensive security process. One thing I must add is that the security process at this club is like no other in the Gta and you can tell with the procedures they have in place their main goal is to ensure all us guests have a safe and fun nightlife experience. 5/5 coming again 100%
Very thorough high Security, definitely felt safe going there. The music is pretty damn good. Bottles are expensive like everywhere in toronto. Great layout and lighting. Drinks are a little pricier than average. Lots of girls, great male to female ratio.
Visiting from San Francisco and stopped by here for our last night out. Hip hop is what I’m into and it seemed hard to find during our visit. Heard nothing but good things from locals recommending this place. Was told that it would be 320 for a bottle in VIP to get in asap and cut the line. Paid 500 total including tip. Went through front door pat down, then metal detectors. Was told that we wouldn’t have seats, but a section blocked off at the bar. Got downstairs and we literally got placed at the bar with no section and no table. We took one sip of our drink and walked out. This club isn’t interested in building brand and creating experiences, they’re just a interested in making a quick buck. We didn’t get any of our money back, and they almost didn’t give me back my ID. We were told, next time we’re in the TO, we would get free entry. I know lots of people who would be looking for a top experience when visiting TO, and I will be down playing this spot until they go out of business. If you have a buck to spend and want to turn up, avoid this place at all cost.
A SHAME that in 2022 we’re facing acts of discrimination like this. Should’ve read reviews before. My 2 brown girls & I waited in the GL line next to enter for 1.5 hrs. The bouncers would go to the BACK of the line & bring girls in of a specific type. When we spoke up to ask why, we got booted to the back. After re-lining we got told later no matter how many times we wait in line we weren’t getting in. After demanding an explanation they told us its bc 1 of our shoesopen toe low heels Stay away from this place if you don’t fit a certain skin colour or desired “type” of girls they are looking for. Not sure how businesses get away with this RACIST behaviour. These 2 bouncers were DISRESPECTFUL & they enjoyed every bit of “authority” they had to make us brown folks in line feel the way we did
Worst nightlife experience I had in Toronto. They made us wait in the cold while they were letting girls in that are not of age in front of us. The girls showed a student id card that does not even have date of birth. Individually, they all gave a kiss on the bouncers cheeks before walking inside. The security there confiscated my lighter and my joint. They told me that I would be able to get the lighter when I was leaving. I asked them why they were taking away the weed and the woman that was searching me told me that the owner “did not want it in the premises”. After going inside I recognized a very strong scent of weed. It was a guy smoking a blunt in one of the private booths. When I was leaving the club, I was complaining about it to the employees and their response was “sometimes the owners smoke up inside”. I was then given a random lighter from a bucket full of them. I asked if I could search my lighter, she offered to give me two instead... The place was extremely cold. Most men that were regulars and security kept their jacket on while the waitresses and bartenders with extremely revealing clothes were clearly freezing. Not planning to go ever again. awful music and lighting that burns your eyeballs. Ps: This is my first review of any place, the reason why is simply for you to have a realistic expectation.
This place SUCKS…. It’s a 10 cent club not worth to spend $100’s of dollar to get in. This place have more security check than any other president office, they should show more interest on inside entertainment than just security check. STAFF - please don’t even go there, worst of the worst staff I have ever experienced. Place is over crowded, felt like cattle shed. Music is far better in my local bar. Overall this 44 Toronto is NO DEAL at all.
I’m not sure why the reviews are so negative. I Came from Calgary, Alberta on the weekend for the first time. From the bouncers to bartenders, everything was a good experience. There was no discrimination, and everyone inside was a vibe especially one of the bartenders. And this is coming from someone that’s a person of color and lives in Alberta 10/10 experience
Legitimately one of the worse clubbing experience I've ever had in the city. The bouncers have some weird god complex. Also, because all of the men they let in know the security and staff/bought bottle service they feel like they can behave however they want and security doesn't do anything, so girls take note. If you're a group of girls going for a night out you can feel unsafe really quickly and the no one will do anything which is weird because of how much security there is
