This location is the best I've found in terms of atmosphere around the area! I've been going to this location for about two years now, and now I'm a monthly member. However, I'm kind of glad I read some of these reviews and they seem to also think the quality of instructors have declined. My sister and my favourite is Tori, and also Ashley. You can tell they're good because the class is often full! I often go to Michael's classes too. Some other instructors make me feel very anxious during practice. I wish there were more times so I can choose between instructors, but I still enjoy the late classes. Hopefully in the future, I'll see more morning classes starting around 8-9am. It has very clean equipments and rooms. It gets a little slushy during the winter but it's hard to avoid that.
This yoga studio is amazing! I’ve been to multiple classes, and have enjoyed every single one of them. I’ve never felt out of place - gentle hands on if you’ve given permission adjustments, encouraging words … It’s a wonderful space to practice. The staff there are so helpful and kind - letting you know everything you need to know about different types of classes they have to offer … Aside from the classes and staff - the actual studios change rooms included are so clean and large. Also PS - Tori’s awesome class also put me to sleep while in Savasana. I look forward to continuing to take my practices to YYOGA on Queen!
I am giving 3 stars for facilities, staff and the studio. I find stuff to be super helpful and super friendly, first time I was running late for the class girl at the reception grabbed my stuff and put it in the locker for me so I could just run upstairs. I was super thankful. Changing room, work out rooms and the sauna are beautiful and spacious. I have used the studio via ClassPass several times and since it's next to my work I'd love to become a permanent member but...unfortunately I have to agree with other comments that the instructors are a massive letdown so far. I find the classes not very challenging and by all means I'm not some super athlete. In fact I tend to get exhausted towards the end of most classes and take breaks. Not here. Every class so far taken has been easy and, well, boring if I'm honest. I just finished YScultp with Dione and that was like a senior citizen class with really bad music on top of that. For spending 8 credits or $140 a month I expect much much more. Goodlife's Body Pump is much more challenging than that not to mention that YYoga had weights only up to 15lbs. I'll take few more classes and then make my mind up.
Beautiful interior space and atmosphere. The facilities are prime compared to other similarly priced yoga studios, and the teachers and varied schedule are sure to have something that fits your practice. I was surprised at how quiet the studios are, as they face busy Queen street, but you cannot hear a thing. Enjoy a cup of tea before or after practice, use the infrared sauna on a cold day in the winter, and chat with the friendly staff about whatever! YYoga is always a welcoming space, and this QSW location brings the feeling of the Vancouver yoga community to Toronto.
This is a very nice studio and meets the yyoga standard I've come to know in Vancouver. The facilities are always very clean and the sauana usually has room. The variety in class is sure to meet whatever need you have. It would be nice if they had some additional advanced classes. It would be nice for management to encourage staff to be more diligent with refilling the toiletries as they are frequently empty.
We love YYoga, and decided to join after a having month to month and drop in membership. The interior design is fantastic. The hot class room heaters are very discrete. The instructors are kind and very attentive. We have found the management very receptive and accommodating to any complaints and concerns we may have.
Have been going to this studio for the last few years and have seen a decline in the quality of instructors. Sadly I've used too many passes on classes that have been less than ideal and focused on getting a workout VS. Actual yoga. What I used to love the most about yyoga was each instructor's unique yoga styles and the opportunity to learn new poses. In recent months the last few series of classes I've done "challenged" us with how long to hold a plank. Will not be renewing my membership.
Terrific studio which is well lite with natural light, high ceilings, and clean facilities. If you're looking for the opposite of a dark and dirty yoga studio this is it. Variety of classes is the best kept secret, in addition to a large number of yoga classes they also offer spin and boot camp called yfit classes. Good instructors too. Been a member for over 2 years now.
The classes are as challenging as you want them to be, or you can chose an easier path. At our stage of body maintenance working at keeping things working we are very sensitive to what feels good and creates a joyful, strengthening and healing experience. Yyoga delivers that very well, compared to other clubs we have visited. They were accommodating and understanding with admin items with passes and pauses for vacations.
Am now a member after shopping around, great seniors rates, clean bright, instructors filled with skill and love. Beautiful interior design, as Architects we value this gorgeously detailed and well thought out studios, washrooms, changing and grooming areas. The air in the hot classes stays fairly fresh, low odours, the ambience is healing, fun, and not too in your face about yoga philosophy. There is every kind of class, from hot to cool, plus fitness, & spin classes. Ian Jarvie is a great instructor in all areas. They have a 30 days for $40 pass, good in Toronto Vancouver and Whistler. It's easy to love this place, Queen West or Harbourfront.
