It's a gorgeous university in the heart of Toronto! Lots of students attend year round and they offer a wide range of food options and other services.
This university is a great educational institution! Very well known in Southern Ontario and if you live in the GTA, its a fine choice.nnVery good campus grounds with a cozy, village-like feel that is easy to get to as it is located on the subway line, has several bus stops, and several parking lots. There are also several anemities on campus if you need to buy food, miscellaneous goods, or use the bank.nnThe campus is quite insulated so everybody you see will also be a student and because of the college system at the university, socializing can be easy in spite of York being a commuter school.nnYork has strong humanities programs, a growing engineering faculty, and high quality professors.nnThe only downside I would say is the risk of frequent striking, but outside of that, it really is not a bad school contrary to what arrogant high school students and others believe.nnIf I had to go back and pick again, I would still pick York!nnGood experience.
Studied at York University in 2022 and had a great experience. It’s a top-tier university with excellent professors who are knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely invested in students. I also made some lifelong friendships and had an enriching academic and social experience. Highly recommend York.
Attended the Canadian Tennis Open tonight and every year I am amazed at such a great job that they do. The staff and volunteers are always friendly and helpful and it is a delight to attend. We attend every year for the last 5 years and have nothing but praise and admiration for the organizers. A good Tennis game becomes the on the top.
York University has been an extremely frustrating experience and is deeply disappointing overall. The biggest issue is the complete lack of organization and accountability across administrative departments. Simple processes like registration, academic advising, or getting clear information take weeks and often involve being sent in circles with contradictory responses.nnCommunication is poor and inconsistent. Important updates are unclear, delayed, or buried in confusing systems, leaving students stressed and uncertain. When problems arise, there is little transparency or urgency to resolve them.nnAcademically, the quality is very inconsistent. Some instructors care, but many courses feel poorly structured, outdated, or unclear in expectations. Grading can feel arbitrary, and meaningful feedback is often missing—especially considering the high tuition costs.nnSupport services are heavily promoted but difficult to access in reality. Long wait times, limited appointments, and generic advice make it feel like students are just numbers rather than individuals who need support.nnOverall, York fails to deliver the organized, supportive, and student-focused environment it promises. Prospective students should seriously consider other options before committing.
