The sushi here was pretty good overall. I found the sticky rice could have been a bit softer and moister, though. We did have to wait longer than we anticipated for our food, which was a bit of a bummer. On the bright side, the sashimi was really tasty and a highlight of the meal. It’s a solid Japanese restaurant that’s definitely worth checking out.
The best sushi place in Fernie. We were surprised how good our sushi were, for such a small town the food quality was amazing. Also loved the modern music playlist! The cocktail menu is impressive, Toki Pom Sour is my favourite nMust try sushi rolls - unagi, kryptonite, Krista, Fernie steak & chi roll. Thank you guys for a welcoming atmosphere and wonderful customer service.nnKeep in mind that most of the menu items are done from scratch and it takes a while to prepare your order.
A decent spot for Japanese food held back by abysmal service times . This is one of the few Japanese restaurants in Fernie and the food served here is quite good, nicely presented and tasty. It's a averagely sized place with a lively ambience and dim lighting, as well as a outdoor patio deck for the summer. Unfortunately, I was left waiting to place my order for quite some time, and to add on to that, the food took even longer to arrive. Mind you, we had only ordered 2-3 items in total, but it took nearly 30-40 min to arrive! The restaurant wasn't full at the time but it somehow took that long. I enjoyed the food, but the wait was enough to stop me from returning during my visit to Fernie. Parking can be done outside on the street and the waiters are friendly overall. Pricing is fine too but the wait was not worth it.
This restaurant is very popular among tourists. If you want a seat here without waiting too long, make sure to arrive at least five minutes before the door opens. Otherwise it’s a race to enter.nnThat being said, I think the food is very average. I went twice in the same week to give it another chance but the experience was the same both times. Of all the sushi places I’ve been, it’s somewhere lower on that list. I might not be so harsh if it wasn’t as popular as it is.nnThe wait to actually get the food is also very long. I waited longer for my food than I actually spent time eating.nnI think it’s an okay restaurant that deserves your business, but if you’re looking for the best restaurant in town, I don’t think this is it for multiple reasons.
The combination of the ramen and sushi provided a great balance of flavours and textures, making it an ideal choice for a varied meal.nnThe service at Yamagoya Sushi was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that my dining experience was pleasant from start to finish. The restaurant’s sleek, modern decor created a relaxed yet upscale atmosphere.nnOverall, the Ramen and Sushi Combo is a great way to experience the best of both worlds, with well-prepared dishes that highlight the restaurant’s commitment to quality.nnNote: They don’t take reservations or take out orders. Please have the patience to wait if you like to enjoy a beautiful dinner.
