It wasn't that bad. The service wasn't that bad. The food was pretty decent with large portions but tbh it could have had better customer service. Although there was one guy who was really kind, overall they are pretty patient. 1.5/5 that I may return again. Oh very family friendly I may add, could have been a bit cleaner (the setting areas)

As a customer, I discovered Xawaash the Fall of 2015. The first thing I notice, was contemporary set-up of the restaurant and cleanliness. After ordering my meal, I ended up staying longer than planned,....enjoyed trying their desert menu. Xawaash's food was tasty, affordable, great service and nice friendly management. Ever since then , I became a regular customer on weekends. The ginger Somali Tea is my favorite with the Date cake - vanila ice-cream. Besides the food and service, As an employer, I notice their employees is a perfect representation of our diverse cultures. Most of them are young Canadian adults, very friendly and respectable staff.

This place has a great seating area with a lot of interesting pictures above the booths. I ordered the chicken kebab and beef kofta with rice and my wife ordered the lamb chops with fries. We both enjoyed our plates and made sure to save space for dessert. We shared their sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and tiramisu which were both delicious. I would highly recommend coming with your family because there is something for everyone.

This was by far my best experience in terms of Somali cuisine. The food was very delicious, the service was very fast, the workers were very welcoming and the restaurant had an atmosphere that I've never experienced anywhere else. The experience was so good it made me wanna go to Somalia and observe the culture first hand! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone of any age.

Like nothing I've ever seen. It's as if someone with experience and vision designed it and after the first week let their kids take over. None of the main dishes look like the pictures; it's loud, unorganized and not that friendly. Greeting: "what do you want to eat?" When I asked a question about the food they seemed so uninterested in helping me I wondered if they even worked there. The food is pretty good otherwise I would have given a 1 star. If they hired a manager with experience this place could be great. Until then...
