Wok With Dave

Our usual place that we were lucky to discover moving here many years ago! As a family of 4, we order the meal for 3, deep fried wontons and an extra wonton soup. We get 2 good size meals out of it! The ginger beef is amazing along with the sweet and sour pork. Both are well sauced and very flavorful. The wontons are huge and meaty and the soup is full of them. Equally delicious deep fried! The dumplings are easily the best in the city!

We love Wok With Dave so much. Their ginger beer is hands down the best I've ever had. They went above and beyond on NYE to make sure we got the food we waited a bit too late to order, without over-promising, and I think there even stayed open late that night so we could get food. They've always been so kind and accommodating to us! The food is reasonably priced for huge portions, and it's always hot and fresh. I'm pretty sure it's just a mom and pop place, and they always seem grateful for our business. We don't go anywhere else now, despite there being 5-10 other Chinese food places within 10 minutes of our house.

First Chinese food place I have tried since moving from BC. Food was great, not greasy and the dinner for 4 was so much food. They even threw in some dumplings! Happy to find similar chow mein to BC too : ginger beef was so good. All of it was good!

Shame as it's so close to home but it's not so good. Palace chicken came with plenty of celery and chicken and corn. Missing cashews and much flavour. Dumplings were stodgy, I love dumplings but these were not good. I tried two and left the others for compost bin. Wontons seem to have the same meat inside like the dumplings and the broth was lacking flavour. I might give it one more shot... The ginger beef was the only saving grace in my order.

Used to be our favorite place to go for Chinese takeout. Realize New Years is a very busy time but we ordered 2 hrs in advance and still needed to wait an extra 1/2 hr.  Some of dishes were over cooked  and some were lacking ingredients; chicken Chow Mein with no chicken or vegetables. Ginger Fried beef seems to have more fat and grizzle than before. One fortune cookie for 5 people.

Obviously, I ordered way too much food for two people, but let me tell you these will be leftovers that I am excited to eat the next day. Supporting local businesses during these difficult economic times is easy when the quality and flavour of the food being prepared is so high. Definitely try the ginger fried chicken if you are like my friend and don't eat beef this is a great alternative. Everything was piping hot and ready when I walked in for my pickup. I will definitely go back again. Check out Wok With Dave - you will be glad that you did!

Ordered delivery, and it was over all pretty bad. The pork dumplings were pink and the dough undercooked, the chow mein was almost dry no sauce, and the Shanghai noodles were doughy and undercooked, with maybe 4 pieces of beef for the entire order. Do not recommend.

Sweet and sour chicken had barely any dressing, was super dry. The Shanghai noodles with seasonal vegetables and black bean sauce was also very dry with a couple shreds of carrots I was so sad to receive such a poor quality meal :-.

The storefront isn't going to win any awards, to be honest it's actually pretty rough looking, there isn't a restaurant to speak of but what is there is not pretty. To judge the restaurant from its frontage would be a mistake though because the food is excellent. Dave offers a wide variety of different Chinese cuisine but I'm a huge fan of his chicken wings. Conveniently when asked Dave is also able to provide gluten free on request. Food is always fast, hot and fresh, the portions are generous. Ordering take out is your best bet. They deliver but that can be tricky due to how busy they get during evening hours. If you can pick up though you'll be in for a treat. Highly recommended in the NW

I recommend them. We order food from them regularly. The delivery is fast or if you go in for takeout it's even faster. The food is fresh, delicious and big portion. The price is just like another Chinese restaurant. Last time when I went to pick up my order I talked a little bit with the lady. She's the owner and she was very nice. The new online order system in their website is quick and easy to use .
