Driving ranges are becoming an endangered species replaced instead by virtual golf places and multipurpose domes so this Range just south of the 407 at Leslie is a find. Still nothing like refining your swing outdoors either on mats or grass. Mats here are in good shape, more mats slots than grass. You get your balls from an autodispenser instead of the human kind that tops off your bucket for max value. The price of automation I guess. Loyalty card is for $30 per season and you get a jumbo to go along with it together with slightly lower pricing. Friendly staff.
$19 for a large basket. Also offers jumbo baskets. Lots of space and parking.
Seasonal place with so much to offer. Outdoor driving range with 300 yrds in distance plus or minus. Good quality range balls not those cheap and cracked ones. Does offer private lesson with a fee, grass and mat available.
Update March 22, 2021: They're open! Great mats with adjustable tee height and fab friendly club house staff has returned. You can reload your bulk card from last year if you kept it. Grass tees were closed on this day and chipping/putting is closed too. Update July 2020: The friendly staff in the club house are doing an excellent job keeping things working during COVID, they're like extra rays of sunshine. Chipping and putting greens are closed though as late as July 23. AK Golf Academy are still on site and I see the instructors effectively transforming swings on a regular basis. Go all the way up the hill to the north if you are looking for grass to hit from. Nice new range with new mats and grass area. I like how the mats allow you to adjust your tee height. Especially worth it in evenings with the sun at my back.
I called ahead and asked if there was a chipping/putting area and was told “yes”. Drove over an hour just to be told they were “out of order” by the same person I spoke to on the phone. I could have gone to any other range that was close to me that doesn’t have a chipping/putting area without wasting gas and time. Just a heads up to inform someone if they call ahead so they don’t make the same mistake I did.
Very nice place. Love the saff, very helpful and friendly. Good royalty packages. Also have beginners classes. You definitely want come back here again. Prices are fair. Its busy on the weekend between the hours of 12 to 2. But they have plenty of spots, and spots opens out very quickly. Over all goos place.
Good location, but terrible service. Creates an atmosphere of rules that limit your enjoyment. Raining a few drops? Better be pushy and kick everyone out? Having a chat with your buddies after the game? Better not be loitering because the sign says no Want to share a bucket with your friend? You better only use one Mat. I feel bad for the staff that need to overly enforce the rules. They have become mindless drones. They come to rush me to leave without even seeing that I have one ball left and I'm about to hit it off. Just posting this here so someone can improve on this establishment. Golf is a game to enjoy and relax. I still come here but def decided to go else where when given the options.
I have been coming to this place for years. Had my first unpleasant run in with a Caucasian male with brown hair in his 50s. Extremely rude and abrasive individual. For 22 bucks for a jumbo bucket you would expect the employees to have some basic customer service skills. I would avoid this place like the plague. This individual should not be allowed outside of his bedroom. Some people should not be put in a environment with other people. I actually feel terrible for his wife. Imagine coming home and dealing with that everyday. IN response. We had a jumbo bucket and two stalls. We had just finished with the balls at one stall and were finishing the final few balls at the second stall. We gave up the second stall as soon as the last ball was hit. Tweedle dumb rolls around as we were hitting the last ten balls on the remaining mat. Just look at the tone of the response as well as the other comments from other customers. This individual needs to take a look at themselves and do some soul searching. When its one or two comments they could be one-offs. When you got dozens of these comments it really begs the question of what is the root cause of the problem? The whole operation is outstanding except for this individual hence the reason I raised the rating to a two star.
Great facility. It has ample space and even flat grass area to practice on. Even those who can only come after work hours have access till 9pm. The management group has done a great job at maintaining the place despite the increase in use during the pandemic. Staff have been nothing but be courteous and smil . I see alot of families enjoying themselves and having a great time learning the game.
I would highly suggest avoiding this place at all costs. Go to Markham Dome nearby instead, so you can get some golf swings in without being harassed by an older white man who drives around just to give people a hard time and is exceptionally rude. He goes beyond enforcing understandable rules and shows he targets the Asian population ironic given that there is a large Asian base of golf players. I couldn’t believe how he was outright yelling at customers - it goes beyond lack of customer service skills, he is just an angry person with no regard for paying customers.
