Back in 2015, a contractor/ carpenter offered to cover up my house exterior pillars with some “stone covering” from Windsor P. He said he could do it with a contractor discount. Unfortunately I made the mistake of trusting him. Not only did he apply some substandard material that has now been drilled through by woodpeckers, he also didn’t do a good job. This guy said he was a Red Seal carpenter. At the time, I asked the Windsor staff too if this material would hold up like stone and nobody had a clear answer. Anyway, lesson learned.
Had an excellent experience here so that I could build a case for a set of vintage glockenspiel bars. I bough Baltic birch, which is verifiably the best plywood available, and Windsor Plywood is definitely the best place to get it. Steve Lynch, the on-site carpenter, was extremely helpful - and he even took interest in my project and asked for met to send him photos afterwards. I've included some of the start-to-finish photos in this review. Thank you for the great subject-matter advice!
Please be careful with the absoute brutal service from this Windsor Plywood location.nAs a homebuilder I have been purchasing from this location for a short while. Stanley had been helping out previously and this trip he totally ignored who I was. After waiting 30+ minutes in the store, I received help from an employee on his first day.nHe engaged help from a senior employee to ring in the 2 sheets of plywood and help cut lengthwise. I asked 1 sheet to be cut in half, and the other is 3 equal widths. This took over 40 minutes to wait for and please see the pictures of the cuts attached.nBrutal. Hard to even save the one piece!nDon't you do this for a living? I had to pay for each cut too!nTime to shop elsewhere....
Thank you Stan for the help with the plywood and talking through my project with me. Also a huge thank you to the gentleman that helped me boost my stupid Subaru when the battery decided to call it quits. Really appreciated the help.
Impressive customer service.nFriendly, knowledgeable and considerate staff... THAT'S why it is a superior customer experience compared to the big box stores I'm looking at you big orange depot
