Very disappointed with this Rona. Although some people try to help you out disappointment comes from the lumber section, where we waited 20 mins to get someone to show up and cut one 1x6 8 foot board. Many people came by to ask if we needed help, some went looking for the person who is allowed to use the saw. Others announced we were waiting and wentnon the PA system to call someone to come by. Soon another fellow was waiting as well with several pieces of wood needing it cut. Sadly after the 20 mins we left, and will never return. Guess there is a reason the Rona lot is empty and the Home Depot is packed. Lesson learned.
I shopped at Trail Appliances for years and the service was generally fine but everything changed when my contractor friend introduced me to Wayne at Rona MacLeod. He’s extremely knowledgeable, friendly, easy to deal with and genuinely focused on what’s best for the customer rather than just closing a sale. Because of that experience I’ll be switching to this Rona from Home Depot for all my construction materials as well. Thanks Wayne!
I went to this location again today, and unfortunately the experience was just as disappointing as my previous visits. I have never once been approached or asked if I needed assistance.nThis afternoon, I walked through the aisles looking for help and came across four sales associates standing near the washrooms chatting rather than assisting customers. I walked past them twice and wasn’t acknowledged. Frustrated, I headed to the kitchen section to look at countertops, but the employee sitting at the desk didn’t look up from his cell phone even once.nAfter that, I went to the tool counter to ask for help. The older gentleman working in that section told me it wasn’t his department and that I would need to find someone else.nThe only assistance I ultimately received was from the gentleman at the customer service desk — and I had to seek him out for help. He appeared overwhelmed and frustrated, as he seemed to be the only one actively helping customers. When I asked if he was working alone, he mentioned that the store hasn’t been busy lately and suggested that disengaged sales associates may be part of the reason. It was very clear he was frustrated but his point made a lot of sense after how my shopping experience turned out.nnOverall, the experience felt unprofessional and frustrating, and it falls well below the level of service customers should reasonably expect.
Very disappointed in the customer service provided at the pro desk by a lady named Carol. I was looking to order over $2500 in materials and potentially an additional $5000 in flooring. After our discussion, it was very evident that she could care less about my business so I had to walk away from everything. I was really looking forward to doing a lot more business at Rona but looks like I’ll be staying with Home Depot after this interaction.nnIn the economy we live in today you’d hope that businesses like this try to provide value and great customer service. This was anything but.
I had a very disappointing return experience with the store manager, Emmy. She refused to accept a receipt photo, copy of the receipt or bank proof and insisted on a printed invoice, even though no email receipt was offered at purchase. I was blamed for this and forced to drive 30 minutes to return with a printed copy.nnHer behavior was aggressive and unprofessional, making the situation unnecessarily confrontational. This experience seriously reduced my confidence in this location and reflects poorly on the level of customer service expected from RONA.
