I have similar experience as Sue Johnson. I have few points to add though. Except one, others staff members were very mechanical and serious. I completely panicked. After the procedure, I don't think there was a debrief done to me or my family member. Except for a 1 liner report I have no knowledge of how I did in the procedure. They must provide video for future review.
I was at Winchester Endoscopy Center recently for an endoscopy and colonoscopy. I had previously been there for an endoscopy. The first time was great, no issues. This recent visit was a nightmare. Due to the anesthesia that was prescribed I woke up during the endoscopy and was choking on the scope for several minutes. I also woke up during the colonoscopy which was extremely painful. The worst part is that the gastroenterologist lied to me and told me that my PCP prescribed the anesthesia, the type where I would not be fully asleeplike I have had several times in the past without issue. This did seem not logical so I checked with my PCP and he assured me that a PCP would never make this decision and he did not in my case. I was told this lie while I was in the room just before they started the procedures. Suffice it to say that I will NEVER be going to Winchester Endoscopy for future tests.
Had a colonoscopy last week at this wonderful center, and those who have had this procedure know how fun it can be although I have never thought the prep is as bad as most people say it is...I wish everyone could have theirs at the WH Endoscopy Center in Woburn. Thanks to Jeannie, Bernadette, Ruth and Dr. Narasimham, minus my anxiety for obvious reasons, this uncomfortable process was almost pleasant. They are all kind, professional, knowledgable and genuinely caring. Cannot believe I am the first to post how impressed I was...come on, people, take the time to praise these wonderful professionals! :
Would not go anywhere else. Very professional and caring staff who are also very thorough with testing and procedures. Was very comfortable and had no side effects afterwards whatsoever. Thank you!
