Very nice place. Spot we had was just off the beach and pretty private! The man that worked there was very nice and super helpful. Would definitely stay again
Such a nice, quiet lil spot! We were able to get a very well treed spot right by the lake, and the kids loved it. Was nice seeing a lot of the families and were able to make a few friends too. The lake was a bit rocky so make sure you got some flip flops or water shoes, but would def go back again!
This is an amazing hidden gem of a family camp ground. Great vibes and amazing management!
Awesome time here this summer. Kids had a blast and considering the issues dealing with covid the campground was great. The lake is clean, fun for the kids and fishing was good. We will for sure be calling next summer to book some time here. Sheldon and Melissa are sorting this campground out and it will be better every year.
As I sit and reflect on this past summer, my family and myself are grateful to have found a little camp site near Lacombe called Wilsons Beach. This camp site put many safety protocols into place to ensure the safety of its campers while allowing campers to sill enjoy the camping season during the Corona Virus pandemic. Having some camp sites designated for full time seasonal campers and some for weekenders, the combination of the 2 works well. It is like its own little community. The Camp management Melissa and her husband Sheldon and staff were amazing and inviting. The other campers full time and weekenders were both nice and friendly. Everyone made myself and my family feel like part of their little community. Wilsons Beach site offers a quiet environment with large sites, with a playground for the kids and a beach for relaxing and a dock for fishing and a boat launch. This little gem of a camp site is geared towards family. For those you that have teenage children you know how hard it can be to get them to spend time with you but after spending a few weekends there ours asked if we could come back next summer. This is a community my family and I look forward to spending many many more weekends there building memories that will last a lifetime. A big thank you to Melissa, Sheldon and family, as well as all the other campers we met. We had an amazing summer! Looking forward to the next. Art and Rheyna Ash and Family
Wife and I have had a seasonal campsite for 3 years now, and rented out weekend sites for years before that. We love the family friendly atmosphere. Dogs are allowed and our fur child loves going to the lake every weekend. Gary and Corrine are completely reasonable and fair with the rules. Some may not like them, and I don’t agree with them all but we adhere to them and have no issues. Love that each campsite is its own. Lots of trees in between and within the rules owners are allowed to set up as they please. Some people mentioned them making more spots seasonal ones. That’s not the case. There could be more people booking out sites for an entire season, however if they is being done they are required to pull their trailer out at least 2 times a season as it’s not considered a seasonal spot. If you want to use the boat launch for the day it does cost money. Helps keep traffic limited for actual campers and seasonal users. Something I’m totally okay with. Complaints about outhouses? Yes sometimes they smell, it’s an outhouse for goodness sakes! Easily one of the best, most beautiful campsites I’ve ever seen.
Great campsite. Was smokey this weekend due to the BC fires. Beach is nice, but a little Rockey. Camp sites are in good shape and are large enough and we'll treed. Play ground was ok,. Could be a little larger. My 9 year old cought a Pike and Walleye. Fun times.
If I could put a zero rating on these people I would. My friend and I booked for camping this weekend. We had to cancel because of the heavy rainfall warning in Alberta throughout this week. We have very young kids that's why we really could not go. They refused to give us a refund because of a short notice cancellation of course we never intended to cancel if it wasn't for the weather. We understood that and asked for a reschedule instead and they wouldn't accept that either. It boggles the mind why they would not just reschedule us for another day. To me that's utter disrespect to clients and bad customer service. People, please be sure to predict what will come your way before booking here because you will not get a mere reschedule! So disturbing!
Beautiful spot for camping, beach and fishing. Great view of the sunset looking West over the lake. Very tidy and well run.
Stayed in the group site 315 this past weekend with a few families. We fit four trailers in there with room to spare. Campground is very well maintained, clean outhouses, lots of trees. Very friendly staff. Beach is great for the kids, water is beautiful. We will definitely book again for next summer
