We picked this spot for proximity to our hotel and stellar reviews. We had about a 30 minute wait at 11:45am on a chilly Saturday morning. There is no where inside to wait so dress warm! Once we were sat our server took great care of us and the food came out quickly! The ham and cheese egg scramble was so good with the off the bone ham adding great flavor and the eggs cooked beautifully. The signature pancakes were fluffy and yummy as well. The hot chocolate was average at best but not what we came for anyway. The location is also right by the park for your popular tourist photo ops. What a great stop on a visit to Chicago!
My partner and I stopped by for a weekday brunch, and there were a decent amount of people there, but we were still seated without a wait. The space is large, spacious, and was decorated festively for the holidays. The service was very quick, friendly, and attentive. I thought the prices were a little high at first $21 for my order, but once the food came, I felt it was definitely worth the price: the portions are huge! I ordered the Cauliflower Hash Skillet with the Signature Berry Bliss Pancakes came with 2 thick pancakes, and both were delicious--the perfect mix of sweet and savory my absolute favorite combo. The skillet was flavorful and had a great mix of flavors and textures-- the aioli sauce with cheese, veggies, and chicken sausage made for a great combo. The cauliflower hash pieces provided a fresh and unique spin on the traditional potato hash, and offered a nicer texture in my opinion. The eggs were also fluffy and well scrambled. The pancakes were also incredible; I don't have pancakes often, but these are definitely the best I've had. They were super soft and moist and the sauces on it were so delicious without being overly sweet. I feel like I could eat so many of these without ever getting sick of them. My partner got the Garden Skillet with Banana Chocolate Chip Pancakes and enjoyed it too! He liked the pancakes much better than the Garden Skillet though, which he felt was pretty standard, nothing special. Overall, I definitely recommend this place-- the price-quantity-quality ratio is super solid! They don't take reservations and it usually gets quite crowded on popular weekend times, so aim to go on weekdays / off-peak times!
A friend from out of town chose this restaurant. We received a warm greeting when we arrived and we were immediately seated. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful and quite personable. I ordered the corned beef hash, upgraded specialty berries pancakes without the vanilla sauce, and a side of fresh fruit. I also ordered a hot caramel latte. I must say the food was absolutely phenomenal. My friend enjoyed her food as well. Also, the prices are quite reasonable. I will definitely be making this my go-to breakfast spot.
My colleague insisted on eating here during a recent trip to Chicago. I have NO regrets about that! The latte was hot fresh and made to order. My brisket hash delectable! The side of berry pancakes was a sweet treat to balance the savory flavor of the hash. Our server was helpful as well as the other wait staff. The decor was simple but Elegant. Definitely will keep it on my list of good Chicago eats.
I would give this more than five stars if I could!! This is hands down the best breakfast I’ve ever had. I’m a pancake fanatic, and the texture and flavor of their pancakes is unbeatable. Every food item is of a special twist, and is some of the highest quality I’ve ever had. Atmosphere is very bright and cheerful, and selection is great! There’s nothing you might crave for breakfast that you can’t get here.
Arrive early before 7 to avoid a wait on weekends or holidays. Outdoor seating is available, weather permitting. Food options are plentiful, with many gluten free and veggie friendly options. They have a cauliflower hash that is very tasty. Real maple syrup can be requested for about $3 at the time of this review the bottle it comes in is very cute. The staff are always friendly and considerate.
While visiting the city, we decided to stop and try this place out for brunch. There was no wait, but the setup makes it kind of packed due to the seating. Our server was fast, and we got our food timely. The pancakes were crazy good! The skillets were so well seasoned that it did not require much else. Overall, it was a great experience and definitely worth the trip! Get there!
Went here for girls brunch and it was fantastic. It was very busy, but the food came out surprisingly quick. I ordered the rutherford omelette upon our server Andrew’s suggestion and it was honestly the best omelette I have ever had in my life. My friends got the key lime pie pancakes, BLT with chips, and chocolate-strawberry waffle - all of which were delicious. Also, their strawberry-vanilla smoothie rocks!
The wait was reasonable considering it was very busy. The hosts were professional and courteous. Our party expanded from 4 to 8 and they accommodated us without any hassle. The food came fairly quickly. The presentation was great. The food was even better. The key lime pancakes are amazing. The jalapeño and bacon chicken with waffles was delicious. Levi our server was attentive and interactive. It was worth the wait and the cost. Definitely recommend
Our wait was fairly short, only about 10 minutes for the two of us. We thought the blueberry Danish pancakes were pretty great, very rich, plus could possibly get enough of the Danish filling. You get five pancakes in an order - plenty enough for anyone! The cauliflower skillet was savory and also substantial. The light cream sauce on top was probably my favorite part of that dish. It was extraordinarily crowded and I'm not one for dining an arms width away from the people next to me - but that's my only downside!
