Wild Orchid Bistro & Sushi Lounge

Had the ginger chicken and hot pot. Chicken was delicious, hot pot tasted okay. Would have given 4 stars but the delivery of the hot pot was terrible! Our server put the stove at the highest heat setting, stopped by to check how things were tasting about 2 minutes later, and then didn't come by to check the boiling level or turn down the heat. I wasn't sure if it was to keep boiling for that long, or if I was allowed to touch the stove. I figured she would come by soon to turn down the temperature or add more broth. The broth started burning, realized she messed up so I turned off the stove. Too late though cause the smoke set off the fire alarms and had to have the restaurant and hotel evacuated. Once we were back in she brought a new broth and pot and put it on the proper heat. A different server helped with heat adjustment when I accidentally turned it off. We got a discount (I'm assuming the whole restaurant did) but not once did our server say sorry, nor did a manager come by to ask us what happened or apologize either. It's like they assumed it was all our fault? If you're going to offer hot pot you need to have proper ventilation and also monitor the cooking process, or clearly explain what the customer is allowed to do and show them how the stove works.

Would NOT recommend. Very expensive compared to quantity and quality of food served. Menu ranges from burgers to sushi to pasta to chicken wings, and none get the attention they deserve to be consistent or good. Ordered negitoro and was served an 11$ roll with a hair on it, and the delicate fish was immediately overpowered by onions. Also, they only serve gluten free soy sauce which is not authentic and leaves the customer with no choice otherwise. Redemption is the the salmon and tuna cuts were fresh (albeit waaaaay expensive)

LOVED it here! We had such great service (Vea? Was our server) and even though I have multiple allergies they were able to specially prepare items. The spicy tuna roll is worth getting, as is the creme brûlée 😀

Delicious dinner, great service. Ginger chicken & green curry were spot on. Matcha ice cream was yummy.
