Story

Wigan Pier has been operating for over seventeen years and is recognized for it's great tasting fish and chips and savoury pies. Wigan was Greg Venables hometown (The Owner). He decided to name his restaurant The Wigan Pier because of his strong affinity for Squamish as a working class town and as a tribute to the working man's ability to laugh at himself.

No frills just great food and plenty of it and very reasonably priced. We got a lovely big piece of Halibut and an authentic steak and mushroom pie with gravy to die for and a bucket full of great french fries. It's worth the trip just for the beer.

Cozy place for fish and chips. Lots of seating. Fast and very friendly service. Take-out seems to be very popular during our lunch dine-in. Portions were good for the price. Fish was fresh and tartar sauce was delicious. I would recommend this place for any occasion!

My favorite restaurant to go to with my girl friend Shelby. We come here a few times a month as a regular thing we do together. Always ordering the full monty that we share together. The portions at the restaurant are always huge, the fish is amazing, be it halibut or cod its the best fish and chips on the west coast. As regulars to this place, its highly recommended. The owner works at his place full time. On any given day during the week you'll see him in the kitchen, very friendly and proud owner. You know a restaurant is premium when the owner cooks the food and works like every average joe. This place has been a staple of Squamish for decades, winning multiple years of awards in the local paper which he displays proudly on the counter.

Amazing place! Hands down one of the best places for Fish and Chips I have been to. It has a really great English pub vibe. I will be returning to the Wigan Pier as soon as I have a chance, and I'll be bringing friends and family.

fish and chips were tasty; tartar sauce that is included is tiny whether you order the small or large fish dinners! they charge you for extra, but at least it's larger than the size that it comes with. we accidentally ordered 2 extra sauces and it was way too much for 1 small and 1 large dinner.
