Formerly Helwig Family Chiropractic (founded 2001), Westside family chiropractic has recently attracted new management while providing the same safe, effective chiropractic care and massage therapy as always. We look forward to helping you soon!

Meet the staff!


Kenneth Swanston

Kenneth Swanston has chiropractic in the blood, having had his first adjustment at the tender age of one day old from his father. He grew up right here in Edmonton, graduating from Ross Sheppard high school and taking 3 years of Science at the U of A before heading to Australia to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a chiropractor. After 5 more years of University he graduated with a double bachelor in Science and Chiropractic Science in 2005 from RMIT.
Eager to make an impact he took a position with HealthWise Chiropractic and started a practice from scratch. He was able to impact the lives of many families and gain valuable experience while expanding his box of tools.
After 7 years in Australia, Ken was ready to come home. He missed his family, the Oilers and Eskimos, and the little things in Edmonton that felt like home. When he’s not busy adjusting, he might be found tinkering around on his guitar, playing basketball, and going to the gym.
His passion is looking after families and helping them them achieve better heath. He loves to see people stay healthy without resorting to drugs or surgery.

Deborah is well known for her caring and intuitive approach, with a gift for seeing the whole person within the context of their life. After a proper patient evaluation and assessment, Deborah ensures all your concerns are recognized and incorporated into an individualized treatment plan that works for you and your lifestyle. Her distinctive massage method is accompanied with 16 years working experience, caring for patients in a chiropractic setting. Deborah’s extensive education and training, allow her to use a vast array of massage techniques to assist in treating numerous muscle, joint and nerve conditions for adults, children, athletes and special populations.

As a former competitive ski racer, Deborah maintains an active lifestyle and passion for the outdoors. When she is not in the office she can be found skiing, mountain biking, golfing and sailing.

Kelly Nall
Kelly is Westside Family Chiropractic’s faithful chiropractic assistant. She’s the Shaman of scheduling, the artisan of administration and a chiropractic warrior. Kelly has been a part of the team since September, 2010 and continues to excel as the face and heart of the office. She thrives on interaction with people and when not manning the reception desk, Kelly can be found performing at the Red Piano, with her contemporary trio, Bella Rouge or her bands, After Eight and Axe&Smash.
