Supporting small business in the area is essential! I recently got our family our first bunny! She’s so friendly and sweet. Mel was knowledgeable and answered all our questions. You can tell she really cares about animals. Also this is the only place we can find large antlers for our two larger dogs. Prices are on par for a local business and worth every penny!
About two months ago we purchased a beautiful guinea pig from the western mills pet shop. My daughter was excited to be selecting her first pet. The staff was very helpful, and took the time to walk us through the whole store looking at the different items she might need to help care for her new pet. They also answer her rapid fire questioning with patience and as much accuracy as they could. We have been very happy and "Mr. Calico Cuddles" is doing wonderfully! We have been buying the feed and other supplies from this store, as well as the quality is really good. we are also waiting for the next set of guinea pigs to arrives so that my other daughter can have a pet as well and Mr. Calico can have some company. All thanks to this wonderful shop, we have two very happy little pet or soon to be owners!
I bought a “sweet” rabbit from here. It was supposed to be one breed and in fact it is something different. She is supposed to be so sweet but she has some aggressive behaviors. She isn’t the nicest bunny like they said she is. I have 30+ years experience with rabbits so I know what the different breeds are. The issue I had was as we walked out my mom told me to look so I turned my head and saw a lady hitting a big dog that was supposed to be picking out a toy with its leash. The same lady took a big stick and was beating it on the floor chasing a big white bird away from the dog. Got the feeling that it isn’t a really friendly place for the animals. Won’t go back
Greatest pet store in Olean! Don't waste your money on wet and wild pets unless you like having tiny yard funerals with your kids the day after going there. My son has an aquarium full of fish, the ones from Weston's are still alive, wet and wild ones died within 2 days. Weston's folks are friendly and answered all my son's cute but never-ending questions happily!
I called to ask about a job available and when I said where I was from I was told no immediately because "that's too far away." Personally I think the lady I spoke to was extremely rude and she did not even ask me any other questions, I was planning on telling them about my personal experience I have had with animals. I have volunteering at a local vets office and animal shelter for the past year and am continuing to do so and have taken many animal related classes throughout highschool. I was willing to drive the three days out of the week to work there but after being treated like that I would not even consider it.
Fred was very helpful and respectful... Most definitely educated me on a lot of things I didn't know about properly taking care of fish.. Will be attending his store more often
I recently went there to purchase an aquarium. I was very shocked at the way it all went down. I've known Fred not personally} but through the warren pa. store. I wasn't expecting the out come. After spending $393.29 not once was I asked about what kind of fish I was putting in it or offered any kind of discount or coupon for anything to put in it. Oh well lesson learned. Needless to say I won't be returning.
Wide variety of reptiles, such as bearded dragons and the occasional chamelion here and there, wide variety of birds such as finches, love birds, parakeets and the occasional sun co ure or cockatiel. Lots of rodents, like mice, gerbals, hamsters, guinea pigs and more, sometimes scorpions and usually tarantulas.Great pet store with good advice and good pets. I got my first parakeet from there, and she had a popping personality! Five stars!!
This is a very good pet store with good owners who stand by their products and will stand by their customers with help and knowledge their prices are great and reasonable and I would like to say thanks to them for their help with the problem I had with my fish tank
Dirty, over populated cages, animals prone to heat stroke left in hot humid parts of the store while owners have air conditioning of some sort by the registers. I may still go here for supplies but there is no way their animals are in good health.
