I stayed here during pheasant season opener at the behest of my dad, simply because he finds the cheapest motel in all of South Dakota. I live half a country away and he makes the arrangements. The owners are very nice. The motel itself was probably built in, I dont know, the 40s-50s? While it will not receive any awards, it got the job done. Besides, it adds to the quality of the story. It's nearly an anachronism. I am not giving the motel zero stars, I just cannot bring myself to assign a value to it. Compared to Hilton family hotels, which is what I normally stay in, the West View would receive 1 star. But for what it is, I would give it 3 stars. One additional piece of information: I wouldn't take my girlfriend there!
