We chose this location based on reviews and we are glad we did. This is the best stand alone, privately owned campground we've encountered. Sherry is very accomidating and personable. She gave us ideas on what places to visit. Level sites, and accepting of our passenger van conversion to campervan. It was popular on the weekend but everyone was respectful of each other's space. We will be back. Sherry, thank you very much for your hospitality.
We stayed overnight with a 30' Airstream. Sherry, the owner, was very pleasant and accommodating. Back in site easy to maneuver into. 30 amp, but in early June the night was cool so no issues there. Plenty of shade trees. Full hook up sites. Good water! Mature, quiet setting off the beaten path. Our Verizon signal was adequate. Bath facilities appeared to be closed long term, so being self-contained was a must. Overall, a pleasant experience. Would definitely return!
A delight! If you are looking for a place just to chill, this is it! No amenities but the owner makes up for it with her gracious hospitality. If I ever cross country again, this place will be on the agenda for an extended stay to enjoy the quiet and explore the area. Sherry was going floating on the river the morning we left. She’s my idol.
We're here for a week while working in the area. Big trees provide much needed shade ! Full hook ups on nice sized lots. Best phone signal we've had since working thru Missouri ! Sherri is super nice, and goes out of her way to provide you a good stay. Very pleased !
Beautiful place, very peaceful and quiet. Clean facility, full rv hookups. Lots of trails in adjacent woods. I'm here working in the area but will bring my family back..
Friends of ours said they were going to this campground for the weekend. we decided to join them. We have never had stayed here. It is a small park with some full time campers. Sherry greeted us when we pulled in and showed us where to park. The area of St James has much to offer even during this time of places being closed. Sherry told us of a winery and we had a blast. We had a very good stay and enjoyed the weekend and someday will return. We has an issue late Friday night with our 30 amp. no camper behind us and my cord reach to their box. It was fixed the next day quickly. Thanks for the good weekend.
We loved it! The owner is super friendly and inviting. Each camp spot has full septic hook up always a huge plus, picnic tables, and fire pit. Very clean and peaceful. We will definitely stop again our next trip through Missouri.
We stayed at this delightful park our first night after picking up our new trailer. As first-time trailer-pullers, we were nervous about navigating our way, but the owner Sharon saved her only pull-through space for us. The park is well laid out, even for larger vehicles, but it maintains all of the charm of a small park. It is beautifully kept, peaceful and affordable. I particularly loved the walking paths through the woods. I highly recommend stopping over, if you're traveling through Missouri or just want a peaceful place to spend some time.
We stayed one night in a 40ft fifth wheel on October 12, 2017. We were on our way to Arizona and needed a place for one night. We found it on passport America. This is a very clean and well kept campground. The washrooms were very well stocked and very clean. Sherry is the owner and you couldn't ask for better service from her. I don't know about activities or pools since we only stayed one night. Enjoyed our stay and plan on returning on our way home. Thank you for a lovely stay Sherry.
We've camped across the states and this is our favorite campground so far! Very clean and quiet. The owner is the most hospitable host we've met. She gave us the tour of the woods surrounding the property and suggested we stay at the back sites of the complex. It was so wonderful to wake up to the sounds of crickets and birds singing. Highly recommend Pheasant Acres RV!
