I got to experience the Polar express ride, it was amazing. I was blown away by the train experience that was made special by the cast. They made it feel very real like your in the movie. There was village and it looked great. It was good fun we got to make ginger bread men, meet Santa, seeing the train engine and learning great history of the railways. I felt that the gift shop was over priced, but the tickets for the train were great price. Its nice that's is affordable and great fun for the family.

The Polar Express is manned almost entirely by volunteers and is a fundraiser for the museum. If you are expecting to go for a long train ride to somewhere, you will be disappointed. The train travels at 15kph maximum, stays on tracks owned by them and only travels a few kilometers south. There is a conductor who will lead a Carol sing in the return portion of the trip. There are waiters/waitresses who serve cookies and then warm chocolate while Hot Chocolate plays. There is a hobo and there are 4 children who run from car to car but that is pretty much it. They all do a great job and if you are realistic in your expectations and join in the fun, you will enjoy it. There are a few activities in the buildings including a miniature train and Santa but the lineups are long and small children may become impatient. It is not a stellar experience for a child under about 3 years old but 3 to 8 year olds will enjoy most everything.

The Polar Express was a great adventure for the family before Christmas. The non-profit society does a solid job hosting the train ride and visit to the north pole. Dad's will enjoy the steam train locomotive in the round house.

This was a really cool experience. But with the early winter darkness and pouring rain it made it difficult to appreciate it all. Definitely a summer repeat when you can spend the day exploring.

It was excellent! I went on the Polar Express train and I got to experience the movie a bit. We thought we would be late but it was nice that they waited for us. They gave us cookies and hot chocolate. I saw the kids from the movie. We sang Christmas carols. At the end there is a place called the North Pole where you could do some fun activities. This is a great activity for the whole family. If you want the best experience, go there at 6pm. Would reccomend!
