I'm honestly a bit disappointed. I'm used to Wendy's in the US, and this was just a sad reminder of how poor local management can ruin something that I have been looking forward to. The place is less than a year old and it looks neglected in terms of the food. The burgers were somewhat soggy, one drinks machine was broken, the other served only lukewarm flat drinks, no ice available. I'd recommend the US HQ to review the state of the place. Despite being in the center of reading, it was really empty, a bunch of teens were sitting there using foul language without ordering anything while waiting for their bus.. it just made me feel uncomfortable to even be there with my wife & baby. I rank it up one extra star for the service, the local staff seems to be doing their best, the waiting time was minimal, and I did get some chilled cans after asking. The interior is also ok. If I had some US friends coming over, I would simply recommend them not to go, to avoid disappointment. I'd also tell my British friends, please give Wendy's another chance when you get to visit the US.
My first visit mid day today. Restaurant was fairly quiet with only few customers in at that time, more arrived as time passed. Place was clean and tidy, member of staff doing routine checks and minor cleaning. Used self service machine in order to browse menu options in undisturbed manner. Food itself was prepared very quickly and neatly placed on metal tray. Fries crispy, retaining their flavour and shape after some time. Burger itself was really juicy, filled with tasty meat patties, crispy bacon, cheese and sauces. Price reasonable, location central and conveniently placed within short walk from train station. Will be happy to come back.
My first Wendy's for many years and it has changed. The burger was OK and the fries were good. The soft drink was from a serve yourself machine that you see in many places nowadays. When we went in we had to post someone in the middle of the dining area ready to pounce on an empty table. Tables were not cleaned between use.
After hearing lots about Wendy’s over in the states, we were very excited to try one here in the UK - and we were not disappointed! Very clean and friendly, lovely staff, and very fast to order and prepare food. Plenty of seating, and loads to choose from on the menu. Very tasty food and quite good value for money based on how much you get. Literally the only point to consider is the “frosty”, while it may look like a milkshake on the menu, is more like a soft serve ice cream. That’s not a bad thing, though…
Very fast service after ordering from the machine. Chips were very good. Burger was basically the same as Five Guys, I think the processed cheese kinda ruins it so I'll try without next time. Very efficient service overall. Shame the layout won't let you see the burgers being made, but the FSA rating was 5/5 as of 03 August 2021. Fairly priced, would try again, the service was top notch.
Pros: 1. Fast food indeed. Took 1 minute to get our order for 5 people. Wow! 2. Yummy burgers. Can compete with Burger King. Tastes fresh. 3. They have options for chips. With cheese, bacon or chili. It was good too. 4. Frosty is the best. Yummers. Must come back soon. 5. Gobsmack in the middle of the town centre. Loads of parking nearby. 6. Clean toilets. 7. Lovely friendly staff. Con: 1. Reading branch is not that spacious. Will definitely come back again.
Very busy! And unfortunately one of the drink machines was broken. Other than that the wait time and food were both good. Chips not amazing but still nice. You're given a wooden spoon for the frosty so have to deal with that horrible feeling. The baconator was tasty but on the greasy side. Overall though wasn't bad and would probably go back
Can safely say that I really enjoyed Wendy’s.. I ordered the Baconnator - omg it was so good!! The meat inside was delicious - slightly on the messy and salty side, but was phenomenal. I also ordered the chicken nuggets, you DEFINITELY have to go for the 8 piece because 4 definitely isn’t enough. They were so so crispy and delicious. The fries felt like skin on fries, different from KFC, McDonald’s or BK, was pleasantly surprised with them. ALSO their Milkshakes are great - wouldn’t really call it a milkshake though, it’s served with a spoon and kind of like a dessert. Overall, the service was fast, Team members knowledgeable and smiling, I asked for extra sauce and was given as many as I wanted, the environment was clean, I like the new style screens, I like the Five Guys style drink dispensers and best of all, the price was definitely reasonable!! I’m so excited to see them grow this amazing brand within the U.K. WELCOME WENDYS
Very nice place to eat service is very fast and workers are very helpful and accommodating. fries taste amazing What I recommend the most is the chocolate frosty however the vegan bites are not good at all. I wish if they had more vegan and vegetarian options tho. It’s a nice clean place with limited seating place which makes it quite less crowded compared with other fast food places It’s suitable for families with kids where they provide very fun toys with children meals.
The staff were friendly and professional. Order arrived relatively fast given it was quite busy. The burger although was well put together and tasty overall, however was personally more on the salty side.
