Weflen Contracting

I ment to write this when the job was done but let it go. We hired "Murray Weflin" for a bathroom reno. WHAT A ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE! We had a contract. He seemed knowledgeable and competent. When they began his employee and son the bathroom was already torn apart and ready. Murray went on vacation and left the job in the hands of his workers. From grout being slopped on our deck and later sprayed off onto our siding to sanding with the door open and getting drywall dust everywhere TO being informed by his worker that he hadn't laid told before, we were in trouble the second we signed that contract. The more we pointed out BIG mistakes the more abrupt and rude they became. The tub was not wedged properly. The wall tile was sticking out to far in some places and spaced completely unevenly. They left our brand new toliet out in the weather for a week. Installed the toliet unevenly. Didn't use a sub floor. Didn't and the ceiling well. The drywall was put in snd mudded unevenly. The tile floor was uneven and very poorly grouted. The light switch was installed UPSIDE DOWN! I started placing small pieces of get reen paint tape where the uneven tiles were. What I was left with A WALL OF GREEN PAINT TAPE yes it was that bad. We called a tile layer in and he confirmed it was a mess and needed to be removed! All materials scrapped and start from scratch. Murray came back from vacation and tried his best to sluff it off but our new tile layer made it VERY CLEAR to him that he had to fix it. We drew up a new contract stating Murray would: Demo the bathroom. Pay for new materials and our tile layer. He signed it. He began the demo. We did not see the other problems though. It was not in our new contract to re-mud the wall so that was on us. Here we are 2 years later ripping out the floor and the toilet. It has been leaking for some time and the floor grout is chipping, today we discovered NO SUB FLOOR and mold. I could go on and on with all the other things that went south but I think the above list is enough to solidify that he is not a good contractor. DO NOT USE WEFLIN NANAIMO!
