About

Watson’s Mill is a unique 19th century grist and flour mill located in Manotick, operating as a living heritage site and community museum.

Story

The WMMI mandate is to preserve Watson's Mill as a working heritage grist and flour mill, and as an educational, social and cultural focal point for the community and visitors.

For information on upcoming events, please check our Facebook page and our website at www.watsonsmill.com.

Watson's Mill: Summer hours: daily May through October and other times by appointment. Tours and admission by donation.

The Watson's Mill office is located on the 2nd floor of the Carriage Shed: office hours are weekdays, 9am to 5pm, year round. In addition, public restrooms and first aid station are available in this building.

The Carriage Shed houses the Used Book Sale, which is entirely run by an amazing team of volunteers. The book sale is open daily from May 1st to mid-November.

Winter activities in the Carriage Shed include PD day camps, wine tastings, lecture series, workshops and more! Visit the website for the complete schedule of events.

We are also very active in our community: monthly concert series at Manotick United Church, occasional quiz night at Manotick Mill Tavern, and we participate in all the festivals!

We love stopping by a few times each year to view the waterfall/locks and buy some of the delicious bread. They also take credit card payment which is helpful. The staff are always pleasant, and the parking is both free and plentiful. That being said, we avoid when church service is happening as the parking gets as bit more dicey.
A beautiful, historic spot in Manotick to tour or fish at from the dam. Popular for wedding photos. Watson's Mill hosts several events throughout the year. There's a nice spot across the dam where you can sit in the shade and enjoy the river. Remember to not feed bread to the ducks... it can lead to malnutrition.
The mill was very interesting. We bought the delicious honey wheat bread. It would be nice to have more small souveniers about the mill. We did not go on Sunday so we didn’t see the flour grinding demo but I am sure that would be fun. It was a nice area and we walked around to see several bakeries and the museum. Great visit.
I didn't go in or visit the museum but the whole are is nice. Walking paths around the river have plenty of sitting chairs. The view are beautiful. Then walked around checking the old houses which mostly were converted into restaurants some with outdoor patio. Very nice for relaxing afternoon
Went out to Manitick today and visited Watson's Mill. There were displays with the history of the mill. The grounds and parks nearby were nicely kept. I can see how people would enjoy the mill and area around. The people in the mill didn't say much. However, when I asked a question, they were quite nice.
