Watson's Mill is a nice little historic building in Manotick. The volunteers wear period clothes and offer tours of the Mill (It's set up a bit like a mini museum). The Mill is free to visit. They sell duck pellets that you can feed to the ducks that hang out near the Mill. There is also a used bookstore across the street which is affiliated with the Mill and usually has classic novels for a steal.

Expecting Disneyland? You'll be disappointed. This is a lovely and still functioning historic grist mill with a lot of original equipment. All floors are open to the public, and the tour guides are enthusiastic and have a lot of stories to share. This is a small village, now part of more urban Ottawa, so adjust your expectations, and you will enjoy it.

You have touring access from attic to turbines at water level. If you're interested in the historic milling process or heritage timber framing and masonary, Watson Mill is an excellent destination. The mill has parks nearby and situated on a scenic part of the river.

We were just taking a walk around the town and chanced on this cute little museum. Not big or super interesting, but quaint and the folks there were friendly. Basically an old Mill with a lot of the original mechanisms. Some trinkets for sale. Kids in period clothes.
