Walla Foods – Mediterranean and Middle Eastern Artisan Bakery and cafe
Ben Manea was born in Romania and raised in Israel. He emigrated to Toronto in 1999 where he met his wife Sharon, moving with her to the Okanagan in 2005.
He left a technical career to follow his passion for excellent baking and food, teaching himself old-school artisan bread baking and cooking so he could bring the flavours of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern foods to his new home in the South Okanagan.
Using only the finest natural ingredients, with no chemicals, preservatives or shortenings, Walla is a unique artisan bakery and bistro serving delicious rustic dishes for brunch and lunch. All breads and buns are fermented for 3 days allowing many who are gluten-intolerant to enjoy them! There are also take-home fine foods and a tent at the local market on Front St. every Saturday 8:30 am. - 2 pm. from May to October.
