As soon as you walk in, the smell of wood smoke hits you, and you instantly know you’re somewhere special.nEven though the fireplaces weren’t burning when I was there, you can tell they use them. That subtle wood smoke scent hangs in the air and gives the whole place this warm, old world feel. Theo’s has one of the coolest atmospheres I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant. It’s cozy and dim, with massive timber beams overhead and a layout that feels like a hidden maze of different rooms and levels. There are plants growing inside, people tucked away in every corner, and the whole building feels like something from another era, built with materials and craftsmanship you just don’t see anymore.nAnd the food absolutely delivers.nI had the rack of lamb, and it was honestly some of the best lamb I’ve ever had in my life. Perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and done right. The Greek salad was phenomenal too, made with real olive oil and fresh ingredients, and you can taste the difference immediately.nThis place is a gem. I’ll be back as often as I can.
I don’t even know where to start it was absolutely perfect. the server was the nicest woman, so warm and friendly. we started withe hummus and pita and the hummus was so flavourful and the pita was light and delicious. we then got the lamb shoulder which was so tender melted in your mouth and was paired with a beautiful sauce. last but DEFINITELY not least I had the cheesecake icecream for dessert. it was hands down the best icecream i’ve ever had, you can tell its homemade it the best way possible so creamy and smooth.
We drove in from Calgary for the long weekend and stumbled across Theo's on Friday evening, and honestly it was the highlight of the whole trip. The lamb souvlaki was perfectly seasoned and came with the freshest tzatziki I've had outside of Greece. Our server was warm and patient when we peppered her with questions about the menu, which made the whole experience feel really welcoming. If you're passing through Penticton, do yourself a favour and make a reservation here.
The lamb chops are market price and fresh. With just simple seasoning, most of the gamey taste is removed, while the natural rich flavor of the lamb is still preserved. We ordered Beef souvlaki with medium cook is excellent. The most important thing is that their dishes are not salty. It means their materials are fresh.
VERY good food and service. They did a fine job of serving our group of 6. We enjoyed all kinds of dishes, Avgolemono Bowl, Tapenade Flat Bread, Souvlaki, Lamb, even Vegan Moussake
