Do not buy lumber from here if you are looking for straight lumber, even if you intend on placing things back neatly. I was treated with hostility by 3 lumber yard staff there to ‘help’. It was a very stressful 15 minutes as these men were in a hurry to get me out of there, even though I was the only customer and showed little need for any help. As examples of the rude treatment, one of them called my method of strapping the wood “garbage”, asked me questions about what I was building that required straight lengths, asked me how far I was going because they were clearly frustrated that I didn’t leave until things were secured properly, one of them yelled in frustration after I calmly let them know I wished to replace 3 lengths of 2x4. Just an awful experience.
Great store, especially for gifts/decor. Had everything I needed, fabulous staff!
Service at this location is far from the what we’ve expected from Home Hardware stores. Stopped in looking for blinds as we had seen a small selection in the Minden location. When we asked, got a curt “nope” from the female employee working at the paint counter. A polite, courteous reply could have simply included “I’m sorry, we don’t carry blinds at this location”. I guess that would have been too much given that it was 5min to closing. Unfortunately, they have a captured clientele given that there are limited options.
If you can't adequately staff your store.... just close for the day or weekend and stop putting your customers through hell... It was pathetic on Sunday. Just because you put a miniscule sign on your counter about staff shortages doesn't make it ok
THE go-to place when trying to get last minute items for the cottage, dock, boat, etc.!! I've gone there for everything from screws and nuts/bolts, to dock bumpers and cleats, to paint and brushes. Our cottage and dock are thankful we have this Home Hardware in Haliburton ... oh, and staff are helpful too:
New owners a couple years back, in the process of expansing, adding building materials so it will be a Home lumber. Good staff, annoying computer/cash problem.
This is the second time Robert told me they aren't a "build all store' and they don't carry an item. The first time was a plumbing and second ducting. They carried both items. He was dismissive and acted like I was bothering him to help find items, which if I'm not mistaken is his job. Makes me wonder how many sales were lost due to customers being told they don't have items that infact they do.The rest of the employees are very nice and helpful..... Funny how the owner only replies for good reviews
Great hardware store, carrying everything you might need for around your house or recreational property. Friendly, helpful staff. They have a standalone appliance store close by for all major home appliance needs.
Good options for everything. Can't believe there is such a good store in small towns!
