What a pleasant surprise. I didnt expect this high quality Japanese restaurant in Nanaimo. Ive been to Japan countless times and this restaurant made me feel like I was back in Tokyo. Great food, great service and great price. The owner seems to be a fan of X-Japan as I hear Forever Love being played in the restaurant. I am glad to have found this restaurant.

Ichiban, yo!!! Truly a #1 joint, in my opinion but sorry, no sushi. As a place for udon, ramen and donburi, I have yet to experience anything as solid as Wa-ku. Rich broth, succulent ingredients and carefully constructed dishes bump this place several notches above the competition. When are you guys moving to Calgary?

The Tonkotsu Ramen is outstanding, the broth will keep you coming back. We've eaten here once a week since we found it. Incredible that this gem is located in Nanaimo.
