Today we watched Honda Celebration of Light Vancouver July 23 on the shore of Volunteer Park. It is the best place for it. Do not spent time by looking for the place to watch fireworks, go directly to Volunteer Park.
It's a great spot to watch the sunset with mountains and the city in the background.
This park space is easily available from Point Grey Road and populated by poplar trees with extensive views of Burrard Inlet and the very popular North Shore views..there is an extensive bike lane trail available.. there are very comfortable benches and the stairway to the seashore is easily available.. one of our favourite relaxation spots to just sit/stand and listen to the music of the waves meeting the beachfront..of course at lower tides one can wander the extensive Point Grey Road Park Foreshore both east and west as some of the photos I have taken show how absolutely beautiful it is…the steps to the seashore are at the eastern edge of the park…
Very peaceful park with a good view of the city and the mountains. There are lots of walkers and bikers around. It’s a family friendly and dog friendly place. There are benches available and trees providing good shade that makes it a really nice place to read and relax. What a gem!
Great view point. Very clean. Lots of locals walking, jogging, running, biking. Awesome to take in the great view. Very calming. I could heard the waves. 2 benches to sit. Dogs & Kids friendly
My favourite place in kitsilano. It is a very small park but it has an amazing view in all the seasons. It's very quiet as well, there are some benches that you can sit and enjoy the view.
An Amazing and quiet place to sit, drink a coffee, and enjoy the beautiful sunset … also a great spot for photo shooting Photos are without and filter
Tucked between residences, Volunteer Park allows the serene views of English Bay to filter into the neighbourhood. Towering poplar and locust trees line a pathway that leads to the pebble beach below. This site was once the location of Seagate Manor and two other smaller, private residences. They were all demolished in 1977 after being purchased through the Park Board's Land Acquisition Fund. The purchasing of waterfront property along Point Grey Road, to open it for public access, has long been an objective of the Park Board. In 1985 the Park Board was petitioned by the Vancouver Volunteer Centre to name this area Volunteer Park in recognition of all city volunteers and as part of Vancouver's Centennial Celebrations.
Nice enough location, but due to overgrowth of bushes along edge, a wonderful view of the ocean is completely obstructed. The benches along the side are facing directly into a wall of thorny brambles. Huge potential, low effort from the city to maintain. I will note that it is possible to take a path down to the beach and enjoy the views from there
Wonderful spot for waterfront and city skyline views
