Voila Gluten-Free Bakeree

I absolutely love Voila Bakeree! I recently started a GF diet and it was extremely difficult to find sweets and desserts that didn’t taste “weird”. So far, we’ve tried the vegan cupcakes, non-vegan cupcakes, cinnamon buns my favorite!, cinnamon danish bun, and coconut pie. All the products were fresh, light, fulfilling and tasted amazing! It takes me around 30 minutes to reach Voila Bakeree, but it is so worth it. Their service is fast and they’re friendly and will thoroughly explain the ingredients in the products if you have any concerns. Highly recommend this place for all people - whether you’re vegan, on a GF diet, or not!

Overall: Well-priced and plenty of options. 1000 times better than the other gluten-free bakery in Kanata where everything just tastes like sugar Carrot Cake: Amazing, better than many cakes with gluten. Chocolate macaroon: Too much sugar for my liking, couldn't force myself to eat more than half Tried other options on other occasions: Coconut cream tart: Fantastic, not too tart & not too sweet Butter tart: Good & not too sweet Chocolate buttercream cupcake: This was out of stock twice when I went there in the late afternoon, but it was good when I came early enough to get one Vanilla buttercream cupcake & dairy-free chocolate cupcakenot buttercream: Good - the chocolate buttercream is the best one though

Their gluten-free food, baked goods and pies are amazing and the staff recognize you. For me they know my allergies and make sure to take that into account and always have lots of delicious treats and food, even spring rolls! Following the COVID rules set out by the government of Ontario, while still maintaining their wonderful atmosphere. They even have paper menu copies you can pick up in store! Best gluten-free bakery in Ottawa. Wonderful prices as well, fresh food, and it’s usually equal or cheaper than the grocery store foods. They even ask about your pets health, since there’s a vet in the same plaza. I have never had a bad experience at this store.

I am very late in posting this review, and I wish that I had kept a photo to share, but this was hands down one of the best experiences I had ordering from a bakery or any other small business. I had a custom cake made for my partner during the height of the pandemic April 2020, and despite the logistical complexities, Ryan made it a wonderful experience, and I am very grateful for his kindness. The cake itself was beautiful jazz themed, and delicious I'm told that it was one of the best gf cakes he's ever had. A big thank you to Voila Gluten Free Bakeree for everything!

This is the best gluten free bakery in Ottawa hands down! The bread is incredible. Highly recommend the carrot cake. So moist. We usually order a big one for Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving. It has become a staple for our holidays. You won’t regret anything there. It’s so delicious!

Voila Bakeree is fantastic, I bought a full selection of sweets from the bakery and I was very happy. My husband and I particularly loved the coconut cream pie. Everything that I tasted was very good to excellent quality. I felt like the home cooking I had missed since becoming gluten free in 1997 had finally caught up with me. I'll be going back soon for more chocolate chip cookies and a pie or cake if they have one. Thank you, Ryan, for making such good stuff.

My fiancé and I stumbled into Voila today while picking up some things in the area and what a wonderful experience we had. You can see John’s passion just through the way in which he tells you the story behind the business. It’s not about making existing pastries gluten free, but about making delicious baked goods that happen to cater to the gluten-free crowd. He treated us to one of the lemon cupcakes and WOW! It was sensational. Moist, light, and delicious. Can’t wait to get home and try the French baguette and loaf! Thank you.

Recently discovered this gem of a bakery and my life is now complete! I have been celiac for over 10 years and have tried a very large variety of gluten-free items from specialty shops and grocery stores alike, and nothing even comes remotely close to the taste, texture, and quality that Voila offers! It has been a pleasure finally being able to once again enjoy old time favourites. And they offer a wide variety of items ranging from tarts, muffins, danishes, scones, cinnamon buns, cookies, pies, bagels, cakes, cupcakes, pizzas, pastas, breads, buns, pitas, etc! Thank you for the friendly service and amazingly delicious products - I will definitely be spreading the word about your wonderful bakery! :

I just came from Voila. What an awful experience! Customer service is not present at all. After standing outside in the winter, because the capacity is 4 people. Yikes! I finally made it inside, with no pleasant greetings . I order a salted caramel cupcake and an eggnog cupcake. I didn't realize I only got one of the cupcakes until I got to the cash. I did want to try the raspberry pop tart and a cookie,. However, when I ask the first lady who served me for help, the one with the stern unfriendly expression, she told me that the other gentleman would help me. He was already serving another customer and there was no one else in the stone at the time I don't know about you, but having someone who is handling money all day, is NOT someone I want touching my food! They should put the items by him in prepackaged containers. It's disgusting! I haven't tasted anything yet, but I will let you know.

Heaven for anyone on a gluten-free diet. Nice to be able to have anything and everything in the store. Cakes and cupcakes are phenomenally delicious.
