Small menu that hits all the right marks! Vegetarian / Vegan friendly as well. Don't skip the flavorful starters! Casual but intimate dining setting and food would be good as takeout too.
Had a great first experience at this spot on Saturday night. Was able to walk right in and get a table at around 7:30 rare for Toronto on Saturday night. It’s a very casual spot with bar stools and long bar tables but it’s a very small restaurant and doesn’t seat many at a time. The turnover is fairly quick and we saw tons of take out being prepared. The food was delicious- shared the chicken banh mi and the beef pho. Both were very flavorful and authentic. Will be back to try more soon!
It is 2am and I’m still thinking of their Vietnamese coffee pudding. Could be the caffeine talking but I think everybody need to check out this place. Ordered the Turnip cake, Pork belly banh mi, Beef pho and of course Vietnamese coffee pudding. Blew my mind. Everything was flavourful and got this spice that kick you so good, you keep going back for more. Definitely will need to come back and try the Pork congee, amongst other items on their menu. Ps. It’s not a pho place, it’s not a banh mi place…it’s a Viet Beo. Don’t know what it is? Pop on and find out! You might be pleasantly surprised, just like I was.
This place quickly became one of my go-to spots! Definitely try their starters, which are well thought out dishes that harmonize saltiness, acidity, textural differences, and overall flavour. Their pho and banh mi are well done, but was blown away by their starters/shareables. Especially the cauliflower, turnip cake, and fried chicken! Only dish that was a bit disappointing was the vegan pho, the flavour was a bit lacking. I love how Vit Beo highlights some viet classics, but also many creative dishes taking inspiration from other cuisines! Many vegetarian friendly options as well - great spot to bring a vegetarian friend. The chefs handle the whole operation, as they take your order and cash you out no servers here! It’s a small casual spot with not too much seating. They let their food speak for themselves. Price point is also very affordable for the quality! Every time I come, I see them preparing lots of take out orders.
We shared a calamari, and I got the pork congee. So much flavour packed in each dish. The restaurant is pay at front counter and sit among communal beautifully decorated small tables with bar stools. Friendly atmosphere but the music was very loud that night which can make it difficult to chat with your friends if they're sitting on an opposite end of the table. Otherwise, the options of vegan and gluten dishes is amazing for groups with diverse dietary restrictions. The pork congee was so delicious, nothing like I've ever had before. It was sour, and savoury but also spicy and hearty with amazing variety of textures like crispy pork and crunchy veggies paired with a smooth soft boiled egg and fine congee. DELICIOUS
Excellent food at really good prices. The congee has delicious meat and a really nice flavor profile. The banh mi has this really excellent bbq sauce and the chicken was fantastic. We've been here a few times and keep coming back. This is one of our favorite places to eat in the city right now! Vit Beo knows how to make quality food consistently and that's why I'll keep coming back!
Small space but felt very cozy. Pho was standard and I liked how they plated it! It was different but interesting : Turnip cakes were also really delicious! Would definitely come back!
Loved this place. The staff were extremely friendly and it has a great vibe. Got the congee and it was fun and lovely to look at. I did find the pork a wee bit flavourless and dry but the pickled mustard and egg were a delightful touch. Would love to go back and try more. I’m not a fan of congee but this one was the best one I’ve had.
We came back from a trip and was looking to order some viet food. This was the most disappointing viet takeout we had ever had. The food took over an hour to prepare. They didn’t include any utilities or dipping sauce, this is unheard of… the pho only came with 4 pieces of thinly sliced meat. The noodle was rough and dry even drenched in broth. The congee was salty and sour, the only good thing about this whole meal was the eggs. Never returning again. If I could give it an zero star, we would have.
Absolutely loooove this place, for both dine in and take out. The vibes are fantasti, the place is cozy and the food is . Everything in the menu is absolutely delicious, I have had every dish, the Banh MI, calamari, Bok Choy and beef pho are my gotos! Can't go wrong with Vit Beo.Food: 5/5
