This place always hits the spot. If you’re tired of just eating pho you can try their vermicelli with pork and chicken. The meat is so fragrant and beautifully charred. We also like their rice rolls that you can prepare yourself. We got the shrimp wrapped in beef and it was amazing.
Cash only, clean environment, food is okay. Grilled Pork and Spring Rolls Vermicelli Bun $15 : 3.5/5 Too much noodles with only a little sauce. Oily meat, spring rolls have unpleasant rancid odor. Vietnamese Espresso Coffee $5.5 : 2.5/5 Taste like water. House Special Pho $13.5 : 4/5 Soup base is authentic and lovely, we liked it the most.
This is a classic Vietnamese place. They are known for their noodles and their spring rolls. Every time I've dined, the food comes out piping hot and fresh. I recommend v12 and a1 on their menu. They also have a cool immersive dish, where they provide rice papers, various meats of your choosing, fresh herbs such as mint, basil and vermicelli noodles. I've had barbecue meat, and betel leaf beef topping and you basically wrap your own spring rolls. I've enjoyed creating my own wraps. It's delicious and satisfying. I forgot the dish name. Also this place has been around since the 80's and it's a family business. The one drawback is that its either really hot or really cold in the restaurant. Depending on which temperature you're dining in, it'll effect the temperature of the food.
This hidden gem has been around EST 1983!!! What a beautiful space inside, beautiful walls and artwork gives a warm and inviting vibe when you walk in. The food is hands down super authentic to Vietnamese cuisine and culture!!! This was the first time I’ve ever sat down in a restaurant and rolled my own fresh rolls. It was a great experience and felt super authentic to my Vietnam household! Nem nuong Vietnamese grilled pork and Bo la lot beef wrapped in lolot leaves here is so fresh and the flavours are bang on!!!! Feels like home and I love the staff here! They are super warm and welcoming with the best fun energy, making you feel really at home! When my parents first came to Canada, they mentioned that this was a spot they would always dine in!Certainly a spot I will continue to carry the tradition of dining at with my children. Best experience and taste
The small is small and narrow. This place was busy. Known for their wrap platters. We had the beef trio, shrimp crepes, and their famous pork sausage wraps, which was my fav. I will likely come back to try their pho.Food: 4/5
Delicious authentic Vietnamese food for a reasonable price. Great service, Bill includes 10% tip but feel free to tip on top. Cash only so make sure you have a few bills on you. Came here for dinner and everything was so fresh and delicious. The pho comes in one size and is very big! They're very generous with their noodles and beef. We got the shrimp and pork crepe and it was amazing! It comes super crispy and with lots of leafy herbs and lettuce wraps. Suggest cutting the crepe up and wrapping it in lettuce along with a bunch of the herbs. Add some sriracha for heat and dip in the fish sauce right before devouring it! We also got the betel leaf beef skewers small sz comes with 8 pieces! which comes with a large plate of rice paper to wrap them in. This was also delicious. The way you eat it is by wetting the rice paper wraps with some provided water, put a bunch of the leafy herbs provided, stick a piece of beef in there, wrap it up, dip it in the sauce, and enjoy! Lastly their avocado smoothie was really good! Very smooth, full of avocado flavour and butteriness without being overly sweet. Service was also very friendly. Highly recommend for a casual bite.
Great spot! Presentation, Service and Taste was on point! I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because they need to work on their crispy spring roll, it was a bit soft and oily. I had the beef and pork vermicelli.
Such an incredible Vietnamese restaurant located in Chinatown. Loved the atmosphere. The owner is so kind and chatted with us and gave excellent recommendations and the food was top notch. We ordered 3 dishes to share. The bánh xèo was so delicious! Highly recommend this spot.Food: 5/5
If you want to have a nice warming Vietnamese dish in a cozy and somewhat chilled place, I would highly recommend Anh Dao restaurant. As a Vietnamese the food for me is just fine, the prices are fine. For the Pho, I would give it a 7/10, the broth is somewhat not so authentic with a strong taste of MSG but on the bright side, the Pho has a lot of meat. For the Com Tam rice with grilled pork, steamed egg cake, and shredded pork skin served with sweet fish sauce, I would give this a 8.5/10, although the rice is a bit little, the pork states just so good, shredded pork skin is amazing, the steamed egg is just fine. I highly recommend this dish. For the Cha Gio spring rolls, I would give this dish a 9/10, it was made like the Southern-Vietnam style with bunch of taro which tasted amazing, the rolls are filled with pork and very good seasoning. Highly recommended . In conclusion, a nice and cozy place, food is fine, nice place to be.
Bun bo hue could be better. Just some noodles and a few slices of meat. Where's all the great stuff: blood cubes, pork knuckle, banana heart, beef shank. Broth soup was okay, was spicy and that was about it. Bo La Lot /Grilled Betel Leaf Wrap Beef tasted better. Also came in a big portion. Maybe come back to try something else
